Going for my first proper ride out on the tiger tomorrow. I'm riding up to Squires in North Yorks from Newmarket in Cambridgeshire, then on to see my old mum in Leeds. Going there and back in the day so it's gonna be a bit of a trek. I'll report back on how i get on !
Have fun - don’t over do it though! How many miles is that? I’ve done a few day trips of about 240+ miles which leaves me knackered and that’s with a day at work. Normally I try to do it over two or more days. Not sure I’m built for long journeys. Hope u are
Not really lol I've struggled with a bad back for a lot of years, and tried countless different bikes to try and find something that i can get comfy on. I've had loads of different sportsbikes which i've fitted high bars to and not really found a happy medium, closest i came to being comfortable was a Suzuki GSR750, which was an absolutely brilliant bike, but the seat killed me, so it had to go. Along came the tiger, and i've fallen head over heels in love with it !! I've done 336 miles today, in 5.5 hours, and i feel like i could go and do it again tomorrow, my arse is a bit numb, but that's all, i'm over the moon with it. Time for a few beers and Moto GP qualifying
Cool! Pleased it went well - as an FYI I also fitted risers in the handle bars so to look more like Mary Poppins on a sit up and beg peddle bike. That took a lot of weight off the arms etc. Edit: now I just need a wicker basket on the front to complete the look...
Funnily enough, i was gonna ask about bar risers !! Do the cables and hoses need changing to fit them ? or is it just a case of unbolting the clamps and sliding them in ? I like the idea of a basket though
With the bike I have and the risers I used the cables did not need any modifications. I’ll hunt around in my accounts to find a link for you.
FleaBay won't display my original order so I cannot show you the actual risers I bought. These are a close approximation. The quality of the ones on Tigger seems great. Very please with them! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/28mm-1-1...003977?hash=item464ea2d149:g:kskAAOSwa81XR0xm
i was thinking more along the lines of these... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Triumph-...Motech-20mm-Handlebar-Bar-Risers/174005823000
They look good too - I wanted up AND back and the ability to rotate the variety I tried seems to offer a better flexibility to find the ‘right’ position. I guess either would work.
Very nice. Risers stopped a muscular back pain I used to get when on a long ride. Can I suggest you put some thick towels or similar all around the area when fitting the risers, i.e. over the tank and round the clocks. Just in case
