I have a Triumph Speed twin and I am looking for a Cat so I can remove all the innards and then replace mine. Yes I know i can buy an X pipe just don't want to spend the money on one.

I do not want to buy one when there are probably hundreds sitting in garages doing absolutely nothing. And if I were to buy one I would by an x-pipe not a cat

Yes indeed but is it not worth a punt to see if someone wants to part with theirs, not expecting it for free but hopefully cheaper than buying a new one or an XPipe.
