    Hi All,

New to the site and although I am going through my Mod 1 and Mod 2 I have actually already bought my 2009 Street Triple :)

As I spend each day going out and staring at it lovingly, I have started looking at what I might want to do to it to improve/ clean up ready for me to ride as soon as I pass my test (4th Sept hopefully)

So I have purchased and installed the Hawk X50 Alarm... What I would like to know though is???

When I remove the seat, around the point where the seat meets the petrol tank there are 3 strips of tape about 1cm wide and 8cm long. These have discoloured as its a white bike and I would like to replace them.

Firstly are they required? Secondly do you thin the previous owner has just cut them himself... as I can seem to find them on the web anywhere?

    Help appreciated as always

    Vince

I have managed to pull these from the video I took. You will see the yellowed stickers behind the tank pads and along the edge of the seat.

Thats what I thought, I can't imagine that the soft seat would damage the tank anyway. I might just remove and see how it goes. Thanks

Worldoftriumph sell tank protection kits at an horrifically high price but sometimes they have a flash sale which makes it more affordable. Or look into helicopter tape

Oxford make paint protection film which is self adhesive, and comes in a variety of colours as well as clear.
They sell it in sheets so you can cut it out in whatever shapes you want.
    Good cheap stuff. :grinning:

Looks like he has a decent progrip tank protector, and stompgrips to boot (they help you stay on the bike) when shite happens. Welcome!
