Well folks, it’s time for me to put the bike up for sale and the reason is I’m on the lookout for something more pillion friendly for two up touring. It’s a 2015 1050S with 13,500 miles on (this may rise very slightly if the suns shines again) and a full service history. I bought the bike in December 2015 with 349 miles on and every mile I’ve put on it has been the most fantastic fun imaginable. As can be seen in the pics below it has the genuine Triumph screen, billet brake reservoirs, twin arrows, carbon heel guards, R&G tail tidy, S moto rad guards, Triumph led indicators and last but not least it has had the Hilltop remap. ( I’ll not bore those who know what this is but if you aren’t aware check out the many threads about this fantastic upgrade). The bike has never seen a winter road having been sorned usually from the end of September till April time. It has been kept in a garage and hooked up to an optimate. Anything it has needed it has got including new battery less than 12 months ago. The rear tyre has done less than 1000 miles, the front about 750 and it’s had more oil through it than the Suez Canal. I’ve tended to change the oil every 4000 miles with a genuine Triumph filter and fully synth Castrol oil. So the price. Well, it’s hard to gauge what it’s worth from eBay as a lot of them on there are the R model but I’m going to pitch it in at £6350 cos it’s in immaculate condition and the remap makes it slightly unique. It has the protection of being datatagged and has the Carole Nash DnA on it as well. The original indicators and reg plate holder are included in the sale price. The pillion pegs will be replaced upon sale.
I’ve a few bikes in mind and I tried a Speed Twin a couple of weeks ago and whilst it had a stonking engine and handled great it wasn’t very comfy and I couldn’t see me loading it with luggage and passenger and doing loads of miles. I know you can get “comfort” seats and all that, been there already with this bike, but it just didn’t seem big enough. I’d have one if it was just for me, but I’m in no rush to buy. It may well end up being German
It's always difficult knowing what to ask, the ones on eBay haven't had much of a look and they average just a bit more than I'm asking with similar mileage. Am I way off or in the ballpark?
The thing is everbody is going to want a few hundred quid off the asking price so i would factor that in if your'e going to advertise it
If you go to advanced search in eBay you can click on completed listings and see what they ended at. Sold or withdrawn or whatever.
Mmmm, I think that would be a bit ambitious having looked at ones that have sold but I appreciate the advice. I haven’t had a px quote at all but whatever it sells for it has to be around that mark, maybe I’ll put it on for £6750 and see if there’s any interest.
She scrubs up well don’t she. You more experienced ebayers might know the answer to this question. When I look at bikes that have ended/ sold I’m confused about what price they got! For example if they have red writing I’m presuming they didn’t sell but what about the ones that say sold in green and what’s with the ones with a green line through the price?
Don’t think about a dealer you will get lowball offer I had offer of 3k for my 2011 12k bike,eBay is an option but tons of time wasters on there (don’t ask)bikes a credit to you so stick to your guns price wise.
Best of luck with the sale, primarily came through to say your stand innovation has me kicking myself for not thinking of that before spending the cheddar on a single sided swing-arm stand that feels sketchy as hell!
Just for info. You can sell your bike for free on Pistonheads. I put my Diavel on there and it sold in a week. Good thing with Pistonheads is that there aren’t many time wasters. Just google Pistonheads biker banter and it’s about the third thread down.
Yorkshireman, I’m not saying this as a dig. Why hide the no plate it gives people a way to verify mileage by mot history. It won’t give your address and people see it when you ride, just curious as I say not a dig
I’d rather hide the plate in pics on public forums and then pm the reg to any potential buyers so they can check the history. It’s been known for plates to be cloned from pics on t’internet, and I know how much hassle a cloned plate can be.
