Today we made it to the Arctic circle centre in Norway. Having travelled through Holland, Germany, Denmark and of course all the great routes of Norway's west coast. Tomorrow we travel down through Sweden for the next 4 days. Could post plenty of pics but for now.....
Should add ridden a Triumph America LT, with Anita, so 2 up plus luggage and so far it has performed faultlessly. I changed to cobra chrome tyres for the trip from metzs and that was a great move, alrou d a lot better.
Does anyone follow the missenden flyer on YouTube. He did that trip last summer and uploaded it to YouTube over about 12 episodes, it looks amazing. He's got a couple of triumphs, does anyone know if he's a poster on here?
very much doubt it,i'm sure i heard his you tube chanel takes up about 80hrs a week..just as well he is retired
Beautiful pictures and congrats on reaching the Circle. I work for Avon so great to hear the Chromes are serving you well
I always used to defend the metzs as I had no issues but when Avon bought out the Chrome's in sizes I could have WW thought I would give them a try. They truly are a big improvement over the Mets in all conditions and boy have I experienced them on this trip along with gravel roads etc etc. Brilliant tyres.
Norway is not cheap but we saved up for over a year to do this trip and so far it has been worth every penny. Just do it the roads are empty and the scenary is just nuts.
A pint is anywhere from £9-£13, food is about a third dearer, fuel similar a bit dearer. We are on an organized trip so breakfast each day included, then for lunch we have often made a sandwich up from the breakfast buffet to eat later. That then just leaves evening meal, pizzas are huge a small can be between 2 and cost £10 so fast food not so bad. Saying that a made up sandwich from a service station, jeez, lol. Most cafes over free coffee/tea if you buy food, as much as you want, as do hotels, it's just on tap. Bottom line though Norway is dear. Don't need cash though, debit card is accepted everywhere, pumps, ferries no matter how small. Etc etc
I wonder if that's where they got the idea for this? The Mirror man it used to sit in Loch Earn in Perthshire,it got removed a couple of years ago
Think it might be the same designer, the Mo-i-Rana one is by a British designer famous for this type of work, so famous I do not know his name. Lol
looks like we are a few days apart. I'm off to Lofoten Islands and then Nordkapp then returning via Sweden
Wow, enjoy, we spoke about Nordkapp but time would not allow. This is a 3 week trip for us both and that is the most time we can have off from work in one hit. Saying that these countries just deliver. Loving the sweeping roads of Sweden, suit a cruiser bike to perfection.
