Good day all, First time posting here as I will most likely become a Triumph owner soon. I am picking up a slightly used 2018 Street Triple RS. Love the bike to death, but I have come across allot of negative stories and issues with Triumph reliability. Concerning the RS I have seen cold start issues, having to replace TFT dash completely, electrical issues when raining, and other misc electrical such as headlight bulbs constantly burning out. I come from mostly Japanese motorcycles so I am really not used to having any issues of major concern. Would hate to have such a great bike as the RS and have it stuck in a shop being repaired or spending allot of money to have it fixed. I would appreciate if current owners can give me their 2 cents and maybe correct me if I am being biased towards the quality of Triumph motorcycles. Sometimes only the negative reviews make their way in the limelight. Thank You !
Hello Plusaq, and welcome in I would have a look at the Street Triple section for more insight and issues
Most issues are made up by non Triumph owners. Reliability is all down to service. I haven't got a speed but i have an 8 year old 1050 Tiger. Owned since February and have done 15k since then. The only cost to date is 1 front and 2 rear tyres. It,s so reliable and smooth.
Sounds like the troubles are much more associated with Speed Triple RS’s than Streets. No issues with my 2018 Street RS
Plusaq Welcome to the family. Nothing to worry about the bike so go for it and do drop us all a picture. Ride Safe Joe.
