I learnt to drive in two different cars; a Metro from BSM for the paid for lessons, and my Mums boyfriend’s Volvo estate. Don’t think I could have found two completely different cars!

Took my test in the Metro and passed first time. :grinning:

I took my bike test on a CG125. What a beast that was! :joy:
Rode to the dealers where I was hiring a bike for my test, on my NC30, went and did the test on the CG then rode the NC home. :grinning:

I bought one of these off a customer for a tenner (£10) with a seized engine. Great car and ran it with another motor in for two years.

That H100 was thrashed constantly and provided reliable transport.
Was it great? No of course not it was terrible but hey 17, easily impressed and a fair step up from an RD50.
One particularly great feature was the fuel dial on the tank. In bends you could go from full to empty in two corners lol

One of these babies.....although the paint was not so oxidised. A Morris 1300 in early 1972. It ate its gearbox shortly afterwards returning from a motocross meeting at Haverhill in Essex.

Morris 1100 for me too, although I had already learned to drive around the Vauxhall garage where I was an apprentice in the garage runaround, a black 1961 Vauxhall Victor, 5082 MV, passed first time as well, I had already taken my bike test by then.
