It is, as they say, the thought that counts. Least I hope it is!! Since I rarely drink alcohol I've absolutely no idea what's good, bad or indifferent but I did think you might be interested in the offers available so i thought it worth the heads up! Safe trip up to the GMU and have a great time there. And the same sentiments are extended to all of those attending. I'm hoping that the eventual completion of my seemingly unending building, reparation and decoration work will allow me to make it to next year's event! Never say "never"? Slainte Mhath!

This evening's "5 PM Happy Hour" cocktail and nibbles......a martini made with The Botanist gin and Vya vermouth with a lemon twist accompanied by truffle oil marcona almonds. Life's simple pleasures!
I think GMU means either Grumpy Men Urinating or Grand Meet Up... There are probably other meanings. As for Slainte Mhath, that sounds like an extremely drunk person with a strong Devon/Welsh accent saying “Its a nice night”. Edit: Apparently it’s Scottish. Who’d have thought?
Hi Sandi. GMU is the annual gathering of thetriumphforum faithful! The 'Grand Meet Up', I believe. A real Scot will be along soon to properly translate Slainte Mhath but my Sassenach understanding is that it means "CHEERS" in Scottish Gaelic. I worked with a Scot many, many years ago and she taught me to say - phonetically - "slanja var, slanja voor" (Mr. O will probably turn an apoplectic purple at that!) and that it meant (loosely translated) "cheers to you and cheers to me"! So, basically, it's a toast. Hope you enjoyed your evening cocktail! Slainte!
