Two vintage motorbikes which have been the only hobby of a blind man for many years were stolen from a shed in the early hours of this morning.

The distinctive bikes, which are similar to the ones in the pictures, were taken from an address in Finchale Road, in Durham.

DC Leanne Howe, of Durham Constabulary, said: “The couple who own these bikes have had them for many years and they are devastated they have been stolen.

“These are very distinctive motorbikes and I am appealing to the public for help to reunite them with their rightful owners.”

The bikes are described as a BSA C15 Red, registration JLU 869D and a BSA Bantam D3 grey, registration 517 UXE.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Durham Constabulary on 101, quoting incident 64 of July 9.

It's getting really bad around Durham and Gateshead lately, bikes are getting stolen on a daily basis by useless little bastids riding 3 up on scooters, there was a rally at the weekend protesting against bike thieves and there was more coppers watching the legal bikes than there were looking for stolen one's.

Getting brazen in London, a chap at work was hijacked by three scooter scrotes, they threatened him with knives and a baseball bat, took his 2018 Kawasaki, it was recovered four days later wrecked and burnt out, little fuckers

Had my garage broken into last April, thieving scrotes tried to crop the locks and failed then went away and came back with a car fixed a tow rope to the doors and ripped the doors off, they did not get my Bonneville as it was chained down. Coppers came after but said that there had been numerous break ins trying to get at bikes.
Anyway that night for the whole of Easington district there were only 4 bobbies for the area , don't keep the bike in the garage anymore. ( b@st@rds).

Sign of the times unfortunately, all you can do is make it as difficult as possible for any potential thieves and then make sure you have good insurance........ If they want it, thety are most likely going to get it, despite any security you put in place. Very sad.
