Hi , I have a 2009 Bonneville SE, its done about 6600 miles and I was going to inspect the spark plugs. I think it would be easier to remove the tank to do this , so I might put some new plugs in while I am at it. Any recommendations for good plugs or should I stick to the NGK ones fitted as standard ?

NGK are as good as anything and better than most. Does your bike still have the Air Injection system still in place? If you remove the tank (unnecessary for plugs alone) you could remove the AI system at the same time.

Hi, Yes that is a good idea, its something I was thinking of doing at some point. I presume removing the tank makes it easier to disconnect the cables from the sensors from the pipes ?

To put it simply, you need to remove all the plumbing and tell the ECU that your bike no longer has AI. To do the latter download a free program called TuneECU and purchase an OBD (OnBoard Diagnostic) cable. I got mine from here:

Hang on there matey, are we still talking about the AI system? Sounds like you could be referring to the O² sensors in the exhaust manifolds ?

I would stick to NGK or Bosch, both have been good for me on all sorts of bikes :)

Hi , Sorry for delay in replying but just come in from work and seen your post. I do not really want to go all the way and remove the "plumbing ". I wanted to remove the snorkel , replace with the TTP cover and buy the TTp 1 2-1 tune. I think this means removing the o2 sensors ?

yup TTP tunes require the o2 sensors to be removed, these are attached to the exhaust down pipes not the cylinder head, just saying as there seems to be a bit od confusion.
