    Morning,

    New member riding a '16 plate Street Twin for the past year. Have had a Tiger 800, Street Triple S and Scrambler 1200XE on test over the past year, but nothing beats the Twin...only thing it's lacking is a 6th gear and a rev counter.

    Thought the Scrambler was going to be a winner being higher up (I do 40 miles a day commuting, so looking for a greater road presence) and with a bigger engine and extra gear, but just couldn't get in to it. It was great fun but not like the Twin. The Speed Twin is looking like my next tester...

    I've got a couple of technical queries which I'll put up on the right thread!

    Cheers,

    Tom

    Welcome fellow Street Twinner, had mine since late last year. Still loving it, treated it to plenty of ACF50 and Waxoyl in the winter and a few accessories (bench seat, headlight grill, centre stand, accessory power socket, Kappa pannier and rail). Think over the winter I will blackout the handlebar and headlight mount, a mate knows a powder coating company. 20190607_204808.jpg );

    That's a beauty. I have to admit my winter-proofing was non-existent. Just went with it and now suffering a bit of wear on the exhaust manifolds. Advice to return these to their glory would be welcome!

    Excuse the dust, she's my commuter and goes through all weathers, and yes I have ordered some ACF50 to those I can hear tutting!!

    Nice looking bike, I'd give Autosol a try on the exhaust, any coating would burn off there anyway. I do the underside and wheels with Waxoyl, got some Waxoy on the exhaust and it burn on like a black coating, took a long time to pick off. I like the ACF50 it's a bit sticky, so might collect more muck, but it always seems good underneath. I keep a rag soaked in it.

    Welcome Tom, Brizzle like London bit of a hotspot for thieving bikes, plenty of chains disk locks, semtex and the like me thinks.

    Enjoy your Street Twin, I know I have over the past year.

    I changed a bunch of things, the top three modes being:
    Tyres went for Continental Road Attach 3's absolutely transformed the ride
    Hagon 2810 rear shocks, excellent
    Progressive front springs

    The combination has made Edna a real joy, she turns nicely, my spine (fat bastard) is no longer knackered after hours of riding and the front stays nicely planted, I'm sure a more capable rider could really push her now, as I ride like an old lady guess I'll never know

    Hi Tom and welcome to the forum :cool: Lovely ride, looking good for commuter. Autosol will cleanup the header pipes and cans and then you can use a daily moist (wd40/acf50) cloth the keep shiny after quick wipe off. Enjoy
