Time for NUDGERS 12month service Feels like when you have to take your pet to the vets anyway this is what I got to play on That’s NUDGER crying in the background cos he thinks I’m abandoning him
What a blast What a Feckin brilliant machine Can’t really put into words how brilliant this bike is First thing I noticed was obviously the riding position Lifting my legs up and putting them behind myself to get on the pegs felt very strange to me after a year on my NUDGER But I only took it round the corner to show the lads at work and immediately felt at home with it The lads at Triumph Newcastle are brilliant to deal with and when I got there I had no idea what I was gonna get so I dropped a hint that I quite fancy getting a speed twin Well nobody’s got it booked today he said so get yourself away and fill ya boots So I DID didn’t stop until I seen this sort of no entry sign Of course I’m DILLIGAF so I paused for a smoke and thought Feck em bloody foreigners and kept going North to where the Wildlings live like I’ve already said this is a brilliant bike The ergonomics are spot on if a little cramped for me this is no fault of the bike though.......more my aging body and aches and pains The throttle response is flawless and instant plenty of torque and acceleration from way down low The gearbox ratios are perfect for the engine and changing gear is like a knife through butter especially on the up shift think I said the same thing about NUDGER when I got him but this is better I am a MASSIVE fan of these Triumph twin cylinder engines and gear boxes absolutely buzzing about this bike but we both needed refuelling so a pit stop at Jedburgh was always on the cards
Twatty twat twat, gonna have to book me a test ride on one. I’ve sat on one and the only thing I dislike is the instruments seem to be at too shallow an angle, I’d prefer them to be a bit more up towards me. How was the suspension, I don’t think there is any adjustment other than rear preload?
Wow! Dilli, I am seriously impressed with your journalistic talents , I think you might get a guest spot at MCN! I am currently banned from test riding anything by Mrs Billy or I would be tempted to swing me leg over one myself
Suitably refreshed Back to the road test had enough of the Wildlings as I couldn’t understand a Feckin word they were saying What the feck does HEENA HYNA HOO mean anyone??? Really getting into this peach of a bike now So much so that I found myself riding on the balls of my feet and and sticking my knees out like I was on a track day Concentrating hard on the vanishing point that I can’t remember anything about the scenery Just having a blast and feeling like I’m twenty years younger than I am When I set off from Newcastle I put the bike in road mode and had the traction control on Was out for five hours and left it that way all the time Never got overtaken once and everything in front of me was a target that had to be dispensed with and they were bikes/lorries/cars....everything Back to the land of plenty and I went around that greet big puddle we call Kielder It’s a long time since I took corners this fast but this wonderful machine was made for these kinda roads C’mon DILLIGAF ya greet big wussy LEAN IT LEAN IT AND LEAN IT SOME MORE Bloody thing is daring me more and more Where will it all end Feck this I’m Feckin knackered Time for another pit stop Some of ya will recognise this place For those that don’t it’s the bunkhouse where this years GMU is being held in Bell hand jam cup of coffee and slice of cake Sorry @Bad Billy it had to be done I needed the sugar otherwise I would of seized up dunno how to sum this up really Absolute peach of an engine Brilliant gearbox Sublime handling If you’ve got one you’re a reet lucky bastid If ya getting one I Feckin hate ya Will I get one Do I want one SHIT YEAH I WANT ONE But I won’t be getting one for me it’s twenty years to late and by the time I got back to Newcastle I had aching shoulders my hips were on fire and I was bloody knackered One of the best rides I’ve had for years though and if I could afford it I’d have one in a heartbeat as a weekend blaster Got back on NUDGER for the ride home and it was like getting a cuddle or lying on the couch I love my NUDGER
Feckin brilliant Dilli, you have made me REALLY want to test ride one now ... but Mrs Billy says no test rides
Yeah but you’re only racing for one season aren’t you SO.....you’re gonna need a road bike aren’t ya Just tell her you’re gonna try one I mean what harm can a test ride do
I loved it too when my Triumph dealer let me have a play. Agree with Dilli’s excellent write up. Superior in every department compared to the T120. I would’ve had to put too much money on top of mine to swap it so didn’t bother. But a truly awesome machine
Forgot to mention that the one I rode had Vance thingy exhaust fitted Get some .....they sound Feckin brilliant
"Vance thingy exhaust"! Yep, they do sound brilliant! I love 'em. Ironically none of my current bikes have Vance & Hines. Hmmm, shopping may be in order.
Thanks for the great review, Dilli! I think I'll go to my local dealership to see if they have one that I can test ride. Unless Mrs. Billy won't let me.
What a blast Dilli, looks like you gave the bike a right good going over. Great write up and you are correct the V&H exhaust finish off what is a great bike.....
Absolutely brilliant Dilligaf, your reviews were fantastic, laughed out loud at some of your comments, top class, (by the way I am a wildling with a speed twin so you will really hate me ) all the best !!
