Bar end nut/collet removal ??

    Hi all
    Just tried to fit some bar end mirrors to the Bonnie.....how on earth do you remove the original nut in the bars ? They look bonded to me :eek: drill em out ??:mad:
    Any suggestions much appreciated

    Hi John, you don't need to remove the existing collet at all - in fact I used the std. machine screw and collet to attach my bar-ends; which made the installation a 2 minute job !

    I had to remove mine as the Halcyon mirrors have a long fitting - too big for the gap between insert and bar end. Hammer and big screwdriver and hit hard top and bottom. Leave wedged in or insert screw and pull out.

    Hi Steve, mine also had a "long fitting" - so I just took it off !! I then fitted the bar-ends using the same screw that holds the bar end 'finisher' in place. Worked like a charm.

    Hi fellas am afraid will have to resort to the big hammer ........the mirrors I have won`t fit without removal of said bar end doofers :rolleyes:

    Just hit it hard once - that did it for me!
