Hey Folks, just popped in to see whats going on, hope you are all enjoying the slightly warmer weather and that those tyres are getting some wear, and not only in the middle. My father is 78 years old and rides a yamaha FZ6, he's had a fair few bikes in his day and says he knows what my thruxton is like to ride, so its my ambition to get him on it, the only problem is he is 5 foot 6 and has rather short legs, so his excuse is that he cant reach the floor, so i need some ideas, i thought abought making some kind of temporary lower seat, a few cable ties and he wouldnt have any excuse, so do any of you folks have any ideas how to lower the seat level….?
How about hold the bike straight before he takes off, then ride behind and anticipate any stops with mad acceleration so you can be there to hold the bike vertical. I’d. Like to be able to offer an engineering answer but the seat doesn’t have much meat from new.. Sorry buddy
Just been in for the wiring tube fairing recall, there’s also a recall on the same letter for the ignition switch. I don’t know if you all need to get that looked at if you got a letter
Parts are on order. I did take a look around there and noticed the the front brake line is rubbing against the bottom of the ignition barrel where it snakes around, especially upon right handle bar lock. No slack there, needs to be addressed also.
and Phil that was so funny, i was hysterical for around ten minutes, had my wife laughing too, and then more laughs on the phone to father, who was laughing for ages too.
Always like to give someone a chuckle, cheers mate. Btw, on a trip with 2 oldest granddaughters. Last 3days in London ( Home away apt) Nottinghill. All the major sites that the girls had to see, except Big Ben which is scaffolded up. ( the wife gets to see big ben every nite). Today in Paris for 3. And then Venice, Florence and lastly Rome.
