Looked at the girl in my garage today. 1 hundred and 40 thousand squashed flies and Moths on the screen and nose. All from last evenings ride out to Bournemouth. Not one dead body on my helmet or the visor. Must have the screen in the right position now. Tomorrow she gets a nice warm bubble bath.
If it's any help, Jez, the rear brake on my '02 Daytona 955i was also pretty non-existent so do not be too worried about your lack of rear brake. Apparently others have had the same symptoms on their similar machines, according to what I have read on other forums. Mine never failed an MOT so it must have worked well enough to satisfy the requirements. Nice job by the way!
It all sounds as I remember it, Jez. If it all works as it should, the disc is clean and the pads are in good condition and aren't glazed, then it's probably as good as it gets. It will certainly be enough to 'steady the ship' when necessary - just don't expect to be able to 'back it in' to corners!
Sorry chaps, missed the last couple of banoffee related messages but here ya go, it's the best I've tried yet although Sprinters does seem to have a seal of approval View attachment 59661 You've done her proud DD, she's looking stunning, looks like elbow grease, care and patience has definitely paid off, well done that man.
Hit reply on the first thing you want to quote, then scroll back up and hit reply on the next item you want to quote and it should add it below the first.
You should also be able to post a quote, type an answer, hit reply on another item and that one will be quoted under your first reply. You can split the quotes with individual replies this way. Hope this makes sense, probably a better way to explain it than this
It’s not just little goatee beards they have, yesterday I saw a ‘Full Blessed” billowing out from a German Stahlhelm style helmet. In Birmingham I think they call that type of beard a ‘Brian’.
See Ostekuste's explanation DD cos mine was completely by accident and I suspect never to be repeated.... even after being told how it's done
Thanks Ron - and no problem at all getting those indicators to you. You WILL put the long one on the front, though, won't you?
Went to newlands today and saw this tidy specimen, not seen the colour before, it’s actually a kind of burgundy red Very nice. 2003 so one of the first
Did the wire upgrade for the starter motor on my Speed Triple today Received my 3 meters of four guage/25mm cable and connectors with 6mm holes yesterday Replaced the cable from solinoid to starter motor easy enough Then chopped the ends off the cable from battery to solinoid and sealed them, as the cable is entwined in the wiring harness it isn't worth the effort to remove it, so I bypassed it while still including the cable to the fuse box. The four guage cable is twice thicker than the original and I was able to route it more efficiently Upon connecting the battery (with a foam fire extinguisher on hand with pin removed) all started as normal, fuel primed and I pushed the starter, for the first time in that bikes life the starter kicked into life with the energy of a tazered cat⚡ Instead of the usual chug chug as the engine cycled over and kicking in on the third or fourth time round, with the new wires it's fired up almost straight away Such an improvement, and luckily no need for the extinguisher
I’m in the process of a head gasket change so took out the liners on my Daytona today with a homemade puller (idea courtesy of a guy in USA on another forum). It worked a treat and all for about 20% of the cost of the Triumph tool It’s all coming along pretty well, when I can get time to do it. Already done the head; skimmed, valve seals replaced, new s/s exhaust studs and some paint touch ups. Hopefully I can get it all back together soon and get riding her again.
