I very recently bought a Tiger Sport 1050 2018 having test ridden it first. It was the dealers ex demo and only had 500 on the clock. Having owned it for about a week and having completed around 100 miles it was then given it's first service. I also had panniers fitted at the same time.

When I picked the bike up a joined a duel carriageway and having reached 4500 rpm I immediately noticed a high frequency vibration via the hand grips plus also in the foot-pegs. It felt very different to how I remembered so I went directly back to the dealer and explained my experience. The dealer is going to take a look at the bike this week when I've booked it back in to the workshop although he felt it may be having empty panniers may be the cause.

Has anyone else had a similar experience or suggestions on how to resolve? I can't imagine anything done in a 500 mile service will have caused this vibration. My Sprint ST had panniers, often empty, but I never had this vibration issue.

I'm sure it is not my imagination and that I would have noticed this on the test ride and the previous 100 miles. The most obvious sign of the issue is how much the rear mirrors vibrate at anything over 60mph which makes viewing very difficult. I am concerned, it has taken away some of the pleasure of riding the bike

I would try the Tiger1050 forum at https://www.tiger1050.com/

It seems the issue is not unknown and may well be related to how the engine bolts are torqued with the frame - both sequence and value. I also read that throttle body imbalance or even leaky inlet o rings could be responsible along with engine bars and other accessories.......

Just an update on the vibration issue that I experienced. I took the bike back to the dealer where the panniers had been fitted and after some investigation it was discovered that the brackets for the panniers had not been fitted correctly. I wasn't given the full details as probably it was an embarrassment for the mechanic who fitted them.

No worries though, problem solved - vibration free, it wasn't my imagination
