Spent today cleaning the bike and covering it in FS365/ACF50, it has come up brilliant. I then fitted the radiator cover that I had from my Street Twin; fits a treat. So my first pass on mods includes the heated grips, mini screen, optimizer cable, satnav cable and mount, brown quilited seat and vance & hines pipes. That will do for now. Here is a picture of the radiator cover; what do you think guys?...
Looks great, another bit of useful inter-model part info. Can't wait to start on mine, still no news..... I would love to see your sat nav mounting please and also what cable connection is there? Is it a plug or USB? TIA
We’ve had a public holiday in SA today and our new Triumph dealer was open so I took a drive there and rode the new scrambler and speed twin back to back. The speed twin is brilliant ! I’m seriously thinking selling the bonneville and buying a speed twin. You are a lucky man Wessa !
I will post a picture of the satnav mount tomorrow. The mount comes from Garmin with the cables included. The dealer fitted it for me (it came off my speedmaster) as far as I'm aware there are no plugs or USB connectors. When the technician fitted it on the speedmaster he said he initially struggled to find a 12v connection on the bike (I think he said the new bikes run at 5v?). I'm assuming the speed twin is the same. I think he found a 12v connector somewhere on the bike and connected it there. Wessa
Just checked on the website and it says ADVANCED RIDER TECHNOLOGY For maximum possible rider fun, comfort and control, the Speed Twin benefits from a host of advanced technology. Three rider modes – Road, Rain, and Sport – that adjust throttle map and traction control settings to suit conditions and rider preference, the bike’s LED lighting brings greater durability and power efficiency, and the lighter feel of the torque-assist clutch delivers more comfort over long journeys and stop-start urban commutes. In addition, feature-packed twin clocks, immobilizer and a USB socket are all included as standard.
Yep I realised that last night when I was having a look on the internet for anything on USB ports. I came across this on YouTube that might be helpful. Wessa
I also do this route quite a lot. Beautiful looking Bike, my favourite Triumph , I'll keep a eye out for you
Hi wessa, I'm in Chester . Only had my Street Twin since January. I ran it in (500) mainly on that route you mentioned. I'm planning on getting a bit more adventurous though, with visiting some historic sites etc around Britain.
Hey Niko next time you are going into Bill Smiths drop me a pm or post on what are your doing with your triumph today..... Wessa
Very nice indeed. Just just to clarify what screen and tint level is it - I’m already planning my own list of unique accessories for when mine arrives. .
It is a thruxton screen I got from @andyc1, it fits perfect on the speedy. Andy can you answer Kinjane's question re tint etc....
