Hi all im a newbie and have would like some help if possible? 2002/51 sprint st 955i
I was out for a ride when my battery decided to blow and catch fire:tired_face:, i managed to pull the battery out before it gutted the bike. Just a little bit of damage to the battery box thankfully.
Any way i returned the next day with a new battery to fit and she started first time put a voltage tester on and fine on tick over but shot up to 22v when i revved her, turned her off and had the bike recovered home.

So i thought new reg/rectifer which i have fiited replaced all the blown fuses and replacement ecu even put a new Stator in just for piece of mind, the problem is now the bike starts and hold correct voltage but i now have a fault with the indicators when i indicate left or right the lights just stay on without flashing and the new relay make a buzzing sound?? the rev counter also is not working

look forward to talking to you all:):)

I would think when the battery went it has damaged the flasher relay.
    Regards
    Joe.

Systematic approach look on these issues as 1 new and 2 connected ,come at them from a point of few they are new faults separate, then if you have no success approach from a connected view point, the buzzing ,sounds like a connection arching.
If you have more fuses swap them sometimes they can look ok and arent.

the replacement relay was faulty all working correctly, also had a large drain on the battery over night.
The battery drain was the headlight relay
