Up and out at 7.00am this morning to meet a couple of pals at ‘spoons in Banbury for breakfast. Perfect morning for it, very little traffic, lovely roads and a great bike!

There were three models of this era that used the same frame, tank and seat , this one is the RGS1000, there was the SFC1000 hotter cams ! Bigger carburettors and higher specification suspension and brakes , the third was a 120° crank Jota , which had lumpier cam's and the ignition module was much higher performance oriented with "louder" pipes. I had an RGS1000 purchased mid 1983 in Silver. Fastest bike I've ever owned ! With light modification it topped 300 klms hour with ease. Saw 11,000 + rpm 3,000 rpm per 100 kph , 9,000 would = 300 kph !!

Took my America to JCS Triumph dealership in Perth WA. As I am planning a 5,000 ish klms ride to Darwin . I had the cam cover gasket replaced and the valves checked, 115,300 klms on the clock and only one inlet required adjustment! That's only three valves ever !! Had cam chain checked , still 50,000 klms plus so the mechanic's recon . And she ran so sweet on the return trip ... I can't wait to get the camper hitched and head off with the wife for a few weeks on the road.

This morning we went to the Sea Lane Cafe on Goring/Worthing Seafront for breakfast and then on to White Ways Cafe on Bury Hill (Arundel) for a cold beverage. Lots of bikes up there (as usual) and a good number of Triumphs of all ages and types - indeed that phrase would also describe the riders!

Here’s a photo as such things are mandatory.

With Tigger looking rather grubby on the right hand side...

Will do - have only ever gone to the Bluebird in the car... it’s a bit bumpy down there! Tigger, like me is a short arse and would ground out over that lunar landscaped car park...

Ps: you missed a Sophia Vergara look alike this morning... it made the little sausage I was served look a tad inadequate...

Quick run round Beachy Head, East Sussex and a pint of Guinness to calm me down before heading home. All the best Triumph clan.

Crashed into the back of my mate, after he pulled away at a junction then braked hard,I've got a damaged radiator, broken foot peg, bent brake pedal and damaged mudguard on mine, and a broken rear foot peg and bracket on my mates Kawasaki, he's ok but I burnt the top of my leg on his exhaust when his bike fell on me and I think 2 of my toes might be broken, going to hospital in the morning for a check up.

Beats me, we both had time to pull away at the junction but he changed his mind and decided against it, shit happens.

Omg - that’s terrible. Hope the toes are ok and the burn isn’t too bad. Please tell us that you haven’t been ‘branded’ for life with the Kawasaki Logo?

Fingers crossed your Dr Appointment goes well in the morning.
