Just come back from a beautiful ride ending up near Lac Eguzon. Sat out on the terrace drinking coffee watching the world go by.

Have just swapped out the radiator on my Daytona 1000 for one off a 1200 which has made a great deal of difference and the bike now runs a great deal cooler in town. Have also cleaned out the carbs (and balanced them) as well as done the valve clearances. Have got another bike lined up so need to clear some space in my garage and will be selling my Sprint Sports after it is test ridden and photographed for Classic Motorcycle Mechanics. It has done 35K miles and has had the sprag changed at 25k miles. Looking to sell it for around £1600.
    Cheers
    Steve

I took the forks off today & changed the fork oil , the left handside fork oil was red & looked like new so I thought umm , maybe the last owner/garage did this but didnt make a note of it in the service record cos this doesn't look that old (I bought it in october last year from a garage) . Anyhow , then I did the other side & the fork oil looked like 6 year old fork oil that had never been changed & was in a pretty poor state , all creamy & grey . So that's a bit weird , maybe the fork seal went on the left one & someone has done it & not bothered doing the other side . I'm hoping for a transformation in front end handling .

I'm off out for a ride to go and get some oil for the bike - 60kms round trip; then dump the old oil and in with the new.

Preparation for big trip to UK in May.

got my map from ttp today and downloaded it, so easy with their downloader, anyways had to see how she ran and oh so much smoother than the previous one, it must have been tampered with. So with the bike running right I thought I would get on with putting the fek with lucas tail light on as my new indicators had arrived. Thanks squaredeals !!! got the harnesses for front and rear. front indicators on no probs but hit probs with the rear lights, kept blowing fuses, ran out of them, even nicked some out of the car, the wife wont know the mirrors are heated anyway. think its sorted but will get some fuses tomorrow as shops were shut and I ran out of light. Update and pics to-morrow! ( I hope) [IMG]

Why is it when you go to visit someone by bike when its sunny you find the longest route possible! After fitting my FEK and new indicators I went to visit my dad in Gosport, 70 miles, 130 miles later I arrived!! Insect massacre on my headlight! They got their revenge when a bee flew into my helmet and promptly stung me on my temple, I was off the bike so quick I almost forgot to put the side stand down!
OH and Loomies on the way home

Don't do Loomies on Wednesday night. A better spot is Alton Railway Station as there is usually a load of classic bikes that turn up although I do usually go to Loomies for Sunday lunch (wife permitting)
