Hello, I've been putting off my BIG 12k service on my old street triple for over a year, but I'm not sure I can much longer. So can anyone recommend a reasonably priced independent that can do it? I don't mind travelling a bit from where I live (near Macclesfield). Thanks all, Andy.
One thing to remember Andy if your travelling a fair distance for the 12k service is that you’d possibly need to get home under your own steam. I believe the 12k service needs to be performed with the engine stone cold, most places like you to leave the bike with them overnight so with the engine cold they can carry out the service the following day. I guess you would already know this already. Although I’ve never had any work done by this guy a few I know have and were pleased. It’s run by Ian Mackman ex Norton rider and now race technician, maybe worth a call. He’s based just outside of Northwich. https://www.2machsmotorcycles.com/ Another that would be worth contacting is Muddysump who comes to your house to perform services etc, only thing is he gets booked up months in advance, he comes highly recommended by members of the Tiger 800 forum. Well Dave from Muddysump replied very promptly. BUT he can't do it until October as he is fully booked up! I'll give Ian Mackman a shout and see what he says. I may be able to wait until October anyway for my Street Triple as I have a hankering to add a more comfortable mile muncher to my garage.
