First proper post from me. I'm not a fan of textile trousers and prefer biking jeans. I've had my eye on the Rokker Revolutions for a while, since seeing them in a Motolegends catalogue. The £350 odd price tag scared me a bit! To celebrate getting my new ride, I wanted some new kit, including waterproof jeans so I went to Motolegends and tried them on. (I wish the store was closer to home, but already planning my next visit in May) The jeans are so comfortable and light. A world away from my Bull-it jeans. I tried my normal 30 inch leg but when sitting on their store bike, the knee armour sat above my knees, not on them. Same problem with 32 inch leg. Then the store manager (wish I could remember his name) said to try the 34 inch and if the armour sat right, they would then get the jeans altered at their expense. the 34's fit was spot on so I threw caution (and my credit card) to the wind and bought them. They arrived at home within a week, altered to spec and even Mrs B was impressed by the fit. That however was not my main reason for purchasing them. The waterproofing was. Today I got to test them out. I also wore my new Richa Scrambler waxed jacket for the first time (will post about that separately). It's been a wet and windy one here in East Cornwall. Just what I wanted to test them out. I headed up the A38 for a few miles and back, before heading into town to get my hair cut. The rain and spray from cars and lorries totally soaked my kit. This is what I found. I didn't expect the jeans to be warm. I'll get leggings for proper cold weather. My legs did feel chilly and I thought I could feel the rain getting through to my legs. I was wrong! It was just my brain playing tricks on me. Then it felt like water was getting through at the bottom, where water inevitably collects when sat. Again, I was wrong! Then something kind of weird happened. My quads felt like they were getting really hot! That's the only way I could explain it. My hamstrings and calves were chilly, but my quads felt like they were on fire. It didn't last long, but I have no idea why that happened. When I stopped to get my hair cut, I started warming up. I did not feel uncomfortable at all. I was still not convinced all the rain had been stopped though. I would only know for sure when I got home. If any rain got through I was sending the jeans back! At home, Mrs B acted as witness. Bone dry underneath. The jeans did exactly what they said they would! I'm hoping they are tough enough to last me a few years. If they do, they'll be worth the money. Very pleased with my purchase. Chris Saltash Cornwall 2015 Tiger 800 xrx
i’ve also looked at those jeans. Agreed the price is outrageous. But, i have so many armored jeans and waterproof riding pants. Think ill pass on those, but good review. thanks
Excellent review buddy Sounds excellent but the price I use Hood jeans. They are brilliant in protection, quality, looks and comfort BUT not waterproof. So if you are touring or going for a long blast then Rokker jeans would be brilliant. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....-jackets-suits/2014/aug2714-rokkerrevolution/
When they start to get leaky, as they will, consider this stuff... I’ve found it effective! I’m sure you can get it cheaper shopping about... https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/201621021149
I've also been looking for a pair of bike jeans. Ordered a pair of 'paranoid' jeans from Roadskin. https://www.roadskin.co.uk/shop/paranoid-jean-2019/ Hopefully they will be okay.
To stop the feeling of wetness or heat, you could try an under layer which will keep you warmer and be a separating layer from the wet feeling of the material
Have a pair of Rev'it waterproof jeans and can say that so far I have stayed dry in some pretty sh*tty weather. They are well made, a good fit and fairly windproof (have been wearing them since February) but with a Merino wool legging base layer. (good in the heat too). Recommended price here was £260.00 but they were £135.00 from FC Moto in Germany!
That is a good price. I'm surprised that the motoledgend jeans start to leak at £360 and will take a look at Rev'it jeans. They will also go with the Rev'it boots that I bought earlier this year.
Sometimes you just fall in love with some gear when you start looking, then you can’t stop looking at it and then you think f*** it, and buy it even though you know they are priced outrageously. I’m sure your paying for the tech and the quality, and hearing that about Motolegends, that is real service! I’ve just bought a pair of Rokker boots, and it was also one of them, can’t believe the price of these, kept looking then in the end pulled the trigger.
Hi Chaps, These cheapies are the best ive ever used from M&P give them a go you wont be dissapointed heres the link, https://www.mandp.co.uk/aramid-jeans.html
Rokker revolution jeans are well reduced at m&p at the minute... https://www.mandp.co.uk/clearance/rokker-revolution-jeans-blue.html
Fast delivery too... I bought these... https://www.mandp.co.uk/tuzo-kevlar-jeans.html Be aware though, the blue looks black. They are also stretchy, so a size smaller than usual probably won't hurt. (I edited this, as reading back I forgot to put the bloody link in. Doh.
LOL! To be fair they gots to be pretty stretchy for me too That being said I am a bit more svelte these days (hence new trollies.)
I placed an order for a pair from M&P today (£209.40), saving circa £140 on the retail price, which can't be bad. I will post a report once I get them.
I'm glad I spotted those reduced. Nice to be able to aim someone to a bargain. Incidentally, my problem with all trousers, leather or fabric, is the knee armour is always too low. I'm 6'6", so you'd think it might be the other way, but no, same whatever make.
