Vin Number

    Hi new to this buying a triumph and trying to get a vin check but vin is only 12 characters it's a 1965 650 but it keeps saying invalid cause it doesn't have 17 characters please help

    That would be for more modern vehicles, with the classics they will be shorter, best way is to contact a Triumph owners club ,TOMCC, or post the frame (VIN)number here and someone might be able to help, depending on what sort of info youre after of course? Also the engine number

    Your bike is tax and mot free. Contact the TOMCC dating. They charge £10 but will supply you with written confirmation of your bike age and year of manufacture sometimes even the Selling dealer. Go to the post office with your v5 and the letter and ask them to register your bike as mot free. Take all the paperwork and send it to DVLA when doing so if you can get a good photo of the frame and engine number enclose that aswel if you can't use a bit of tracing paper and scribble the number with pencil and bingo another week or so you are on the road.

    Sorry me again not looking. Ron may well be able to help a little more. But the TOMCC would still age the bike.
