Evening guys I hope I’m not breaking protocol here as although I’ve been lurking for a while on this forum, it is my first post. I have a 2018 Tiger 800 and am trying to wire a SatNav onto the bike. On previous bikes, I have used the rear light as a positive as it is ignition controlled. Upon removing the rear plate, I see three wires going into the rear led - coloured white, green and black. Could anyone tell me which is the positive please❓ TIA String.

String, on the previous Tigers generation 1&2 the most popular place to wire a Sat Nav to was live to horn live, earth to horn bracket fixing bolt to frame. Unfortunately on the new models (generation 3) your sat nav wouldn’t work wired to the horn. Have a look at the link to see where most owners have wired their sat navs to on the generation3 models. https://www.tiger800.co.uk/index.php/topic,25610.0.html
Even dead cheaper just follow the link I posted and it will tell String including a picture, we all like pictures on here, which is a switched live
Your right but it’s got a sharp pointy bit on the end and if String is like a few on here then he’ll be a danger to himself
Thanks for all your tips gents If I get one of those pointy things I’ll make sure I’m supervised when using it I’ll let you know how I get on and maybe even post up a piccy if I can figure out how to❗️
No protocol broken as long as you’ve been courteous and introduced yourself in the newbies thread. In the tiger 800 forum there is a thread there. But if you can’t find it: I’ve got a 2012 and I’ve wired it to the horn pos to horn neg to frame.
String. Welcome to the Family. Nice choice of bike and I see you have been sorted with the wires so I will just wait for the piccies. Just hit the upload a file button at the bottom right and bingo. Ride Safe & Enjoy Joe.
