Hmmm.....so it works then @Dozers Dad do you have a link for those extending dog leads? I might invest in some depending on the price
WTF is a leash? Is it like a leach? If it is I ve already got three in the back bedrooms of the house.
I need to get one, well 2 as i've 2 dogs. Been in confrontations with many cyclists who think any stretch of tarmac is a cycle path. Only last night one comes up behind me in the dark... Wankstain on a saddle, "Excuse me" (no bell), Me, "This isnt a cycle path", Wankstain on a saddle, "is it not?", Me,"the lack of signs would tell you that. Also the lack of lights mean you shouldnt be anywhere let alone here" Wankstain on a saddle, "someone pinched them yesterday" Me, "you still havent got any" At this, said wanker decides he should ride his bike through someones flowerbed and across their lawn to go around me. Do i need an extending lead, i think a hammer would be more appropriate. This happens very regularly, i think i need to wait at the bottom of the path (which is very narrow) and ride the ST3 towards them at a rate of knots every morning when they approach as any sort of reasoned discourse with them falls on deaf ears.
So do I. But real him if passing other people or vehicles going past. I wouldn't want him or a driver rider to be compromised by my being irresponsible.
Our daughter doesn't allow her dog to be on an extender because too many have failed. Her dog is a Tamaskan, and they like to pull (Husky genes, I believe) and she fears it would break an extender. So when we go somewhere she (the dog) can explore off the path, we use a retired horse lunge-line (that's the lunge-line that's been retired from horse use). It takes a bit of extra work, gathering in all the loose line and letting it out as the dog wanders about. But beware the severe rope/lunge-line burn if she (still the dog) spots a squirrel or similar interest thing-that-must-be-chased. Always on a short lead when near traffic, cyclists etc.
I think they are total crap...walking friends jack Russell using one....dog saw a squirrel ran after it and the cord of the lead cut through my finger almost to the bone! Totally useless piece of crap!
Yeah......can't work out how it happened, still don't like the things though! They keep getting tangled up all over the place....wrapped round your legs and getting hooked up round tree stumps etc
I like this device very much much, l presume the cat's head goes into the basket...but where does the spiky bit go? Do they make a larger version suitable for use on traffic wardens or speed camera operators?
Afraid not. They found in testing that traffic wardens and speed camera operators already had their heads up their ass.
Com’n Dave this looks like a good motto for a new association: the NLA! When are you going to open it up for membership?
LOL I used to do exactly that and had to hurdle the handlebars when the dog went after a rabbit off to my left! I did stay on my feet on landing, and my audience (a young lady who saw the whole thing) was in stitches, so I did what any man would do and made an exaggerated bow, before going and chatting her up!
Was walking the dog on Exmoor once, on a hot summer day, and there was a place renting rowing boat to fishermen on a reservoir there. A sign stated that the boats were for fishing use only. So I wander up and tell the fellow that I’d like to rent a boat; I didn’t have my fishing gear with me but as a long standing member of the NCSA would it be possible to rent a boat anyway? He went into his shed and got us some oars and buoyancy aids, before having a double take and asking what the NCSA was. “The National Canine Snorkelling Association” I said, pointing at my dachshund. “I’m teaching him to chase catfish!”. He gave me the oars and said “Piss off and have a good time!” He didn’t even charge me for the boat hire, it tickled him that much.
