Hi All I have for sale a fully restored 1965 Tiger 100. This is my father in laws bike and I am selling it for him as he is now in his mid seventies and wont be riding it again so its time for someone else to enjoy it. I am not a bike person so please forgive my ignorance about the details It had a full restoration in 1993 including engine rebuild and was sold to my father in law in 1995. I dont have any paperwork or pictures of the rebuild and no history other than a few MOT's and old V5's. When the guy did the rebuild he reset the mileage so it is showing just over 300 miles, which is all it has done since then. It hasn't been used for quite some time but has been stored inside so has kept very well. We sent it away to be recommissioned a few weeks ago and now it is running well and looks great (as you can see in the pictures) I have the invoice and breakdown of the work I have had done including having the carbs ultrasonically cleaned, new, battery, Distributor oil seal, and voluntary MOT. It is tax exempt and now MOT exempt, we just had the voluntary MOT done for peace of mind as much as anything. I have seen these for a wide variety of prices and will be advertising it in the new year but if anyone on here is interested I would let it go for £5000 just to keep it simple and minimise the hassle for me and my father in law. If anyone is interested please let me know through the forum and I will be happy to discuss it with you. thanks for looking
That takes me back to 1968 when I had my tiger cub in the same colour scheme she is a beauty are they matching numbers, Regards Danny
Hi Danny The numbers match the ones on the log book. I don’t know. If the engine is the original but I assume it is. I can send you the numbers if your interested
Certainly Goldie style although they do look a bit short to me. But that may be some sort of optical illusion - or I'm hallucinating!! Goldie 'cans' ended up on all sorts of bikes back in the sixties ... they looked good and sounded good.
Sorry i have no idea. i dont even know what a Goldie silencer is. My knowledge of bikes stopped at my fizzie. I know that had a Micron
Happy new year to you all Just an update. I will be advertising this bike more widely next week as it is now the new year. If anyone is interested I will post a link on here too. Thanks
If it were here in the states I would buy it. I been looking for a classic bike to own. Free shipping to Ohio?
SimonB Its a lovely machine. He must be heart broken to have to part with it. But in that condition it will go to a great home. Regards Joe.
Thanks Joe He does love it but knows he won’t ride it. He would love someone on the family to ride it but I wouldn’t be safe on a bike. Not enough wheels for me. If it doesn’t sell I might just keep it to look at, it’s a very pretty thing. It goes on eBay tomorrow so let’s hope someone buys it who is going to enjoy it
SimonB It won't be there for long. Make sure you meet them somewhere or at a local store or something. Those machine are sought after by the wrong sorts these days. And don't give it away you know what's its worth. Never met your Father In Law. But tell him I really feel for him. It comes to us all when we have to part with a piece of our treasure. Regards Joe.
Hi Danny No I havnt sold it yet. To be honest I left it over the winter and plan to sell it now that spring is here. It is due to go on Ebay tonight and then the auction will finish on Sunday.
