[IMG] Thought I'd finally start on fitting some bits.

AR exhaust and evotech tail tidy done, r&g engine cases to go.

    Before

After and chunky arrow exhausts gone.

The ar is LOUD. I'll post some more pics tomorrow when it's finished.

Hurry up ellerslie - that's just a teaser photo! ;)

Which version did you get? Mine's a GP1 170mm titanium can with black ceramic tip and laser etched logo.

When you say LOUD...you mean without baffle...right? I'd say it's very acceptable with the baffle in - a really lovely level of sound.

Please post up once you've ridden it - I'm interested to know what you think of the change to the handling and engine characteristics.

I cut the outer end of my baffle down slightly so it sits flush with the inside of the can. AR leave it sticking out so you can grab it with pliers if it becomes hard to extract. I figured that it's just as easy to whip the can off and push it out from the inside - I'm fussy about things lining up though...so perhaps ignore me (plus I had a spare baffle to play with) :yum

Hi, mine is the GP1R (I think) 110 mm Titanium.

Baffle in it's loud. Baffle out it's obnoxious if I'm honest. I'm sure the website says 100 dB baffle in and 108 out. It does sound good though, really good.

Once I get the engine covers on and it cleaned up I'll post another few photos and a sound clip if I can work that out.

Stupid me...when I said I had the GP3, I meant GP1 for the can. It's confusing enough as it is. The GP1R reference, relates to just the tip.

(Edit: The system is called the GP3, the can is a GP1, and the tip is a GP1R. Simples)

The 170mm can is 104db without baffle / 98db with baffle. If you went for the shorter 110mm can, then it's 105db without baffle; 100db with baffle.

So if you also have the shorter GP1 can, you're louder than me.

A 2db difference doesn't sound much, but the db scale means that the sound level doubles every 6db.

Here we go then. Lighting as a bit poor. Soz. Couldn't upload a 9 second sound clip either.

Very nice ellerslie - that extra short pipe looks brilliant, and the tip matches the heat shield nicely too.

Let me know what you think once you've ridden it :)

Looks great. How is the power output from it? Notice any less in the low to mid range?

I'm fretting because I think I prefer your short can o_O

The only consolation is mine is bigger than yours :grinning:

That would ruin the matchy matchy exhaust tip and heat shield that you have going on.

You've got some good contrast with the light shield against the dark belly pan that helps to define the shapes and make it look interesting (whereas mine is the opposite with dark shield against the white belly).

I'm overthinking this as usual

I'm thinking we start a self help group for people that bought stuff and have doubts as to whether they made the right choices.

I will lend ellerslie my heat shield in exchange for a week with his little can :grinning:

Have done 300 miles with the baffle out.

What a noise but anti-social for sure. The pops and bangs on the overrun are ridiculous but even with earplugs in it's too much.

Has to go back in unfortunately. With the baffle in it's just loud enough.

Agree with you. They sound great with baffles in just a terrific machine all-round.
