Phew it's not over for Norton, if you read into this further, it was a company house admin error??!! Due to late accounts being made.

Glad as well because one of my mates has put a deposit down on a new atlas and I want to see it.... god darn It!:scream::joy:

I know a guy who will be relieved as he's been waiting for his new bike for months.

Bad news followed by good. Yep pleased that Norton aren’t to close, an iconic British brand.

I had a mate put a deposit down when Norton went back into production. Was told 3 or 4 month delivery. He eventually got his bike over 12 months later. Norton had been giving away completed bikes to a host of celebrities and the general great and good for publicity instead of honouring their order book. Disgusting imho. I'd never sponsor them.

    Sounds about right.
I met an infrequent acquaintance at a Christmas dinner and we got chatting bikes. He's had all sorts and when I mentioned getting a new Triumph he said about his, yet to be, Norton. A very similar tale to what you wrote and he was still waiting.

Sorry to hear that for your mates sake. My mates experience was years ago. Would have thought Norton might have learnt to value their customers by now. Demand must be outstripping supply still. Sadly allows them to treat their customers like sh*t.

I knew the leadtime for new bikes from Norton was in the months, but suppling bikes to celebs and not meeting paying customer orders is very shoddy......

My brother put a deposit down at the local dealer a few years ago. He waited and waited and waited. Finally he was told it came in. He called to arrange pick up and was informed that Bruce Springsteen wanted it so he got my brother’s bike. Shortly thereafter the dealership went belly up and he never got back his $3,000.00 deposit.

Bugger, hope it doesn't go tits up as iv'e put a deposit on a Nomad to go along side my 765 and RS Sprint. Bad news about the bloke who had his bike pilfered by Bruce Springfield, if it's any consolation he can't sing and his songs are crap!

.......and responsibility for the lost deposit lies with the dealer, not Norton. It is why lawyers are mandated to have client accounts. It separates your money from theirs. Deposits should really be in an escrow account. Something worth checking if you are ever asked for one.....the first question being ‘Why?’!
