I had @Drummer question the relevance of the below thread on tyres has on the Triumph Forum.

    https://www.thetriumphforum.com/threads/tyre-wear-after-track-time-super-corsa-sc1.17851/

His view is that as it refers to a Suzuki Bandit it should not get any coverage on a Triumph Forum, I guess in his view this would also apply to the thread I started about how to start racing at club level.
I would love to race a Triumph, but costs involved in the class I would have to race in are prohibitive for my budget. So I choose to ride in a class where expensive engine, braking and suspension mods are not allowed, so all riders are on the same machinery & it is down to rider ability over who can throw the most money at it.

    https://www.thetriumphforum.com/threads/clubman-racing-diary-of-a-newbie.16018/

So I thought I would start a discussion on what other Forum Members think in regards to content on this site, where are you on this.

    1. It's a Triumph site & I don't want anything on here that is not related
    2. It's a Triumph site but I am open to other bikes & subjects being posted
    3. I really don't care what is posted, I just read what interests me
    4. I am daft and don't understand the question but like the pictures
If I knew how to do the survey thingy that I have seen at various times on the Forum I would have used it but hey ho!

The whole reason this forum works is because of its fun and diversity. If there is something I don't want to read I skip past it, most of the 'he said, but he meant" and "you said, no I didn't" Brexit debate to name but one.
That particular forum topic is Tyres, not specifically Triumph tyres so is all useful information.
Even the derailing of threads can be amusing although it can sometimes get a little much but again you just skip through the stuff you aren't interested in or put in a post that brings it back on track.
There is a wealth of information and knowledge on this site and with the forum members so if you have a problem it will invariably be resolved.
Crack on doing what you do, if I don't want to read it I won't but there is some great info for someone maybe thinking of doing the same.
Enjoy buddy, there is no issue from my very insignificant perspective :p:p

It's not a problem Billy, just because it's a Triumph Forum doesn't mean we only like Triumphs!

    I’m in number 2, 3, and on occasions, 4 :p
I’ve been on a number of forums as it’s my preferred method of social media, I don’t do bacefuck, twatter or owt else like that. This is by far the best forum I’ve ever joined, it entertains and informs in equal measure and apart from one or two quite silly threads the content is right on my wavelength and I feel at home here. Drummer asked a legitimate question for a newbie who hasn’t followed the bandit thread and took a moment or two to understand it’s relevance to Billy and the (maybe) tenuous link to Triumph. As far as I’m concerned post away about the racing and tyres Billy, it interests me so I’ll read it and occasionally contribute to the thread.

Seems fair enough to discuss other stuff, maybe one day one one of us will ride a Honda o_O . I guess the key is to have the title written so we know whats in the discussion.

Hi Mate, I checked before I replied to his original question, been a member since 2016, maybe he just doesn't visit often?
Anyway, it was a perfectly legitimate question which is why I started this debate, I am not trying to start an argument, I just thought I would see what people thought.

Having seen some of his replies on other threads he definitely doesn't appreciate threads coming off subject....each to their own but no reason to get the hump if others don't abide by your forum ethics, unless it's your forum ;);)

You get my vote Billy. As far as I'm concerned the value of having different subjects and brands discussed is what makes this fourm the very best; and by the way I'm a 4........

A nice uncomplicated reply was what was required there Ron ... shame I didn't get one!

Stop with the Hobnobs already .... they are already loaded into the mobile hospitality lounge (camper) ready for round one of the championship , it was figured by Mrs Billy that they are safer in there as she has the key!

That'll be a first then, @Ron Ashurst has already started the derail process, I did think, just for once, that we might stay on track .... What was I thinking .. didn't even get to page 2! :p

    2, 3, and 4....

There are sections in the forum that kind of cover 1.

What makes this forum special compared to some others is that it is accepting and inclusive to EVERYONE who indulges their passion for two wheels rather than being snobbish. Okay there is a bit of ribbing for those who also do BMWs (like me) and Harleys, but that goes with the territory.

The patrons of the other bike forum I wander about spend more time talking about alcohol and photography than bikes. Doesn't bother anyone there so why would it here? Agree with all the "diversity is good" comments above (which sounds like I've been on far too may HR courses...)

One - just one - of the great, good things about this forum is the diversity of its commonality. Oxymoronic? Or just moronic?

Well, there IS a huge range of diversity in the forum's range, membership, geographical spread - you name it, and it will have some element of diversity. But there is also a highly significant and probably essential commonality that's self-evident - a love of motorcycles and a keen focus on Triumph as the preferred manufacturer. We know that there's more than a few on here who don't currently own/ride a Triumph, but that doesn't, and shouldn't, prevent them from contributing their experience, knowledge, wit or wisdom to any aspect or subject of debate or discussion.

This is, without doubt, a great forum BECAUSE of its diversity, not despite it. The base on which it's built is a broad one and that is blindingly obvious from the front page. I'd respectfully suggest that Drummer should ask himself why he's reading a topic that he doesn't think is relevant.

I guess all of that is a rather obtuse and wordy way of saying I'm in (4) [especially when Darkman posts pictures], occasionally straying into the rarified atmosphere of (3) [especially when Callumity posts anything!] and am, I'd like to think, able to ignore pretty much anything that ignites a potential flame war or fails to spark my interest.
