Yeah sure, bring your bandit up to knockhill for me to have a shot, and you can take the mini around the car park (Do stage rallies on the car park, believe it or not !!!)

Wow - looked quick (and by the tone of your daughter’s voice, sounded very scary at times). Is the car fuelled with Irn-Bru?

Mini not that quick (115bhp), so been teaching myself left foor braking, just to keep momentum up and supposedly helps turn in by reducing understeer in front wheel drive cars.
Quite difficult to not jam the anchors on every time, but actually started to get the hang of it.
Only once did I stamp on the brake instead of the clutch:p

Be amazed at the weight of the two front seats, back seats and carpets, must be over 100kg weight saving.

You’d lose another 100-150kg if you took the engine and gear box out.

Don’t u have roll bars and x struts?

Nah, don't go quick enough for those, lucky to get out of 2nd gear, and very unlikely to roll. No straights longer than 100m, so it's all about getting around the corners quickly, maintaining momentum and finding some grip, hence the knobbly tyres running at 20-25 psi.

Bit different from a grass test (high speed, dodge between cones), in that it's all handbrake turns, reverse J-turns and going between posts, following the correct route. Hardest part is trying to remember the correct way around this -

Walk around 3//4 times usually gets it learnt. Then do this 3 times, before running in reverse, plus changes and run another 3 times.

Hit 4 cones in total, which is no bad going for my first go in the mini. Will upload video, soon as YouTube starts behavin its self

That looked really exciting Ron. Did you film with that £35 camera of yours? If you did it is really good quality given the amount of available light.

Yep, that was my No-Pro camera :p, expertly filmed by my 13 year old daughter. I am so impressed with the quality of the picture and sound from these wee bargain cams. Can't go wrong at that money.

It bloody is. I was taking my time, as you see quite a few go flee'ing in and make mistakes. You then get maximum penalty of plus 30 seconds for a wrong direction. Better just to take a second, and make sure you are going the right way.

It really is a bloody good laugh, driving and watching others. Cheapest motorsports going, can do this in any car with a decent handbrake and some tyres to wreck (it does). I got given a set of Renault alloys with some knackered track tyres (Toyo R888's), so thought why not have a go. Anyone fancy it, find a car club and have a go. Can pick up MOT'd cars for £500. 1400 - 1600 MG's, Fiesta's, etc or any cheap ass, car will do.
