Well, it's not like you guys haven't seen one of these before, but I figured I would post a few pics and list some of the mods I've done. I found Mr. Triple's and Steve's posts useful as I was making the bike my own, and so I figured I would pay back the community with my own. I've been insanely busy with work, so apologies on the sub-par pics, but they'll have to do!

    List of mods
    • Evotech tail tidy
    • Rizoma leggera LEDs x4
    • Evotech frame sliders
    • Evotech front fork slider
    • Evotech rear swing arm slider
    • Motocomposite carbon tail fairing (plain gloss), tank sides (plain gloss), and battery cover (twill gloss to match arrows)
    • Evotech radiator guard and oil cooler guard
    • R&G bar ends
    • R&G side stand foot enlarger (sounds like an Austin Powers reference )
    • Oberon fuel cap
    • Vizi-tech Suprabrake 2 - not seen but awesome intelligent rear brake light flasher
    • Garmin Zumo 595LM GPS and mount
For the carbon I got both battery cover styles but I really like how the Twill weave tied in the arrows, so that's what I stuck with. Looking down on the cockpit just puts a grin on my face because it's so pretty!

All mods were super easy to install. The LEDs probably took the longest, but they were pretty easy, I just went slow. Overall I'm super pleased with how things turned out. It looks as good as it rides.

Here is a pic before a few of the mods went on.

Here is a good pic of the Leggera LEDs and frame sliders. I love how low profile the LEDs are but they are SUPER bright.

Front frame slider, about 2 minutes to install.

Rear tail tidy and turn signals.

    Another with GPS cover attached.

Looking really nice there Sideburn. Great mods, turned out very well. Photos are great too. Thanks for posting up some pics of your new baby. “Here is a view of her bum” that’s borderline bike porn you know :p

Heh, thanks man. Yea the fuel cap is nice. Key stays in pocket. I just set my gloves upright, rest the cap inside. Reverse and go!

Nice work Sideburn and great to see how well she's turned out.

What can I pick out? The Rizoma LEDs look great...and of course the fuel cap ;). Carbon tank sides make all the difference. I'm not a fan of the battery cover (as I like it to match the tank)...but it looks good and I like that there's thought behind matching the twill pattern with the exhaust tips.

You can't go wrong with Evotech - but I'm curious about the crash sliders; no one seems to go for the flusher fitting Triumph version. I don't want to test them to find out, but mine don't look like they would do a decent job of protecting the bike like yours would.

I'd recommend a pair of R&G engine sliders/protectors. I dropped my previous 2016 R (relatively gently at a junction) and it landed on the protector, which resulted (to my amazement) in just some scuffing to the nylon and the very edge of the mirror arm (which painted over and disappeared).

    What's next :p?

    Thanks Mr Triple,

I appreciate the comments. Yes those Rizoma's are top-notch and they are bright! I'm toying with the idea of doing some custom paint so whether or not the battery cover stays is open, but I do like it. For me I don't care what the bike looks like from the sides as much as I do when I'm sitting in the cockpit, and for me the carbon cover looks epic.

These Evotech sliders are perfect and they look really good, which I was worried about. I got some buddies and we sat her down on the sides with some laid out cardboard. The Evotech frame sliders not only prevented the LEDs/cowls from touching, they are long enough that the only other thing hitting were the passenger pegs, bar-end sliders and front fork slider. So, I'm confident in a garage or side stand mishap, the important (and expensive) bits would be all safe. I recommend everyone do this, so you know what will hit and see what you can do about it before it happens. Especially those longer LED lights. The RS cowl it's attached to is CRAZY expensive!

There was enough clearance that the engine guards seem unnecessary so I've not gone that route. Not to mention I loath the advertisements of the R&G logo. Worse to my eyes than a Twill carbon battery cover LOL!

I'm thinking of going with a belly pan in carbon. Probably plain/glossy. But some fun money was spent on the GPS which I absolutely love, so maybe in a couple weeks :p

But worth every penny ;) I have them on my bike and I wouldn’t be happy with anything else.

That’s a damn good idea to lay the bike down. I’ve thought of doing that but haven’t had the stones to do it. Good to know those awesome looking sliders do the trick. I’ve ordered the engine case sliders anyway. I often venture a fare ways from home and the insurance of engine case sliders seems pretty cheap. But it sounds like they may not contact the ground anyway. So, are you done with mods for the time being? Once my engine case covers, bar end sliders and tank pads arrive, I’m done. I think :p. Once again, beautiful ride buddy.

You've definitely thought all of this through - the various sliders are such a worthwhile addition, but in the event of a drop, I'm not sure that I can always guarantee to lay the cardboard out in time :yum

We have a motorcycle show next week in London, and I'll be on the look out for some bar end sliders I think. R&G I guess...or possibly Oberon.

On a white bike, the belly pan works with the tank to 'frame' the bike, creating a dynamic shape. If you change it for carbon, it disrupts the look (which obviously doesn't apply to the matt black version). Clearly this is personal preference, so I'm just explaining my own thought process. Eager to succumb to the draw of carbon, I replaced the heat shield instead.

For the record, when my previous bike dropped, the R&G logo pinged off - which is kind of poetic given your thoughts on branding

I hate over-branding too - along with most stickers and decals.

I absolutely love the monochrome painted flags that companies like 8 Ball can do. A subtle, faded out, partial Union flag would do it for me.

Yea, I thought it best to lay it down softly to see if these sliders would actually do anything. I'm not racing on the track, so "sliding" isn't in my plan, but a mishap in the garage isn't out of the question. I've done it a couple of times with my dirt bike!

I agree with the belly pan, so I'm holding off as I worry it would be just white sitting on top, rather than framing the engine as you say.

You'll have to report how the Oberon sliders look/fit if you go that route. The small logo isn't too bad on the bar ends from R&G.

I got R&G spindle sliders front and rear and both sets of the frame aero sliders, I laid mine down too, and only thing touching was my undamaged Low Boy can!
Unfortunatly this was the day after fitting them in petrol station near my home, resulting in 2 scuffed sliders, broken brake leaver, scratched carbon can end and both riveted bands round the can.

Exactly what I mean about losing the white belly pan - fabulous on a black bike, but messes with the balance on white (in my opinion of course ;)).

The Triumph bar ends are another option...just looking for something to provide protection and finish the bars off (not that there's much wrong with them as they are...but they are there to be fiddled with).

Your bike looks SWEET, Sideburn! I'm a little late to this post party but was looking at your list of mods from your Feb. 5th post. I'm intrigued by the R & G side stand foot enlarger. (And, yes, it does sound like an Austin Powers reference!) Where did you get it? How does it attach? Do you like it? Does it work? The stock side stand foot scares the dickens outta me. It always moves and scuffs about and seems like my bike is gonna just take a dumper. I had a '16 Thruxton R prior to my '19 Speed Triple RS and never had the worries about my side stand with that bike that I do with the Speedy. Thanks!

Sorry, busy week at work. I love the larger footprint. The mount is solid aluminum and is attached by pinching the top half (black) to the bottom half. The provide some foam to adjust for figment if your side stand is older and ground down a bit. I didn’t need it but when done it is SOLID without any play at all. No figment issues at all, highly recommended.

I ordered this directly from R&G but I’ve seen them other places too.

Thanks, Sideburn! I am about ready to pull the trigger on the R & G side stand foot enlarger. Wish I could find another w/o the obvious "branding" as I have no other R & G goodies on my bike and like to stay at least relatively consistent with brands/logos/stickers. But function trumps form most every time. :) Thanks for the specific info and comments. I rode my bike today and, once again, was nervous about the side stand as it girated about before it planted (somewhat) firmly on the pavement. Sigh....

It’s out of the way and invisible when up and I don’t mind the branding while down. I generally hate branding too. It’s easy enough to paint before installing but it didn’t bother me.
