So did you just use fine wet & dry emery cloth to remove black paint? I like that :)

Yes ken i used grade 320 wet and dry and then a red finishing scouring pad that came with my mini sander to finish off and to get the brushed finish, but before i did all that i used my Dremel and a small file to get behind all the razor sharp edges off behind inside, otherwise children or a person would cut themselves to pieces if they happened to put their fingers in…… i think it looks quite nice…...

i can rub my finger all around and its all smooth now, just to finish the job off I'm going to completely mask it all off with masking tape and then spray the inner plate with matt black paint to disguise it……. its a bit of a fussy thing to do but its the small details that makes a job look right and how it should…….. ha

I might even try source some stainless gauze and cut two strips and lat it around and between the two plates just as a finishing touch…..with the join at the top so it dont show.

It’s definitely a different sound, but it’s really difficult to tell.
I’m only saying that because I recorded my sons car on my I phone and it sounded nothing like the real thing.

We’ll have to have a sound off one day:p

Really difficult to record real sound via iPhone/pad, play back quality changes the sound, but you do get the hint of popping on the overrun :) sounds just like mine :yum.

I used my DSLR with an external mic and it was pretty good. Need to record the Thruxton the same way when it comes out again.

Hey Ken if you want to do your the same, i will cut you some strips and send them, which you just file to size and put them in, its aluminium so very easy to file and work with, a good job to do on a rainy day, a bit of fettling and its done,
