Because I wanted to be able to charge two devices, and did not want to hard-wire them I decided to put a dual USB charger in. Drilled a hole in the flyscreen. Put the charger in. Connected to switched wire in headlight assembly. Et voilà.
Hi David, bit early to say - it has a cover for when not in use. Try to find a spot which is not susceptible to exposure.
Looks good. Quick story; Manx GP 2017 I suggested to my mate it would be a good idea to put a usb on the handlebars for the phone's with being away for an extended period taking pics and vids. Mate said that's a good idea. We both fitted one but I didn't get round to using mine until there. Guess what, mine was faulty and wouldn't charge despite lighting up. He still takes the piss as I was beholden to him for the week
Good point Eldon, It should be tested and not assume all is well cos it lights up, I would imagine @Vulpes will be along shortly to confirm
To add insult to injury I had bought a few different shaped items to see which fitted best...... and..... Yes you've guessed it, gave the others to him!!!
I don't quite get why Triumph has put the usb under the seat on the 765. What you supposed to do, put your phone under there to charge it? I think a port on the handlebars is better especially if you have a tank bag fitted. On my Honda I put a usb socket under the back seat and it worked well with my phone in jacket pocket until a day or so later calling for petrol forgot the lead and ragged the end off. It was damned inconvenient as I was away for a week but at least the lead suffered and not the phone port.
