Done a bit of searching and find lots of hits, but I wanted to ask the Speed Triple community. Can you guys recommend a good tender that works with the existing connection that comes on the bike? Mine is a 2019 RS.

I'm in the US, so hopefully recommendations that come from my other fellow riders is available here.

I bought the cheapest I could find as I needed a couple of them and the basic Oxford chargers seem to work perfectly.

I have the Optimate 3+ and have used it with both a Rocket III and an S3 without a hitch. So I'm sure the new version 4 will keep your battery in top notch condition.

I was told a long time ago by a specialist that keeping an Optimate type charger permanently connected up is not a good idea, batteries need to be used, ie charged and drained regularly to keep them in good condition in the long term, I only connect a charger to my StreetTwin occasionally, or any of my bikes for that matter, no problems so far, but I guess alarms and immobilisers should be taken into account.

I apply mine when I’m don’t riding for extended periods of time or it is cold in the garage. Summer/spring it is usually not plugged in.

Nope ..have to disagree...my Oxford Optimiser was stuffed from the factory...trouble was it was a good 6 months before I realised it.
    Optimate is the better option
I have a double one doing both bikes in the front garden these last 3 years...works perfectly.

Both mine have been functioning perfectly for about 7 years now and they’re almost permanently switched on, you must have had a duff one.

I've been using a Battery Tender for over 8 years with excellent results. My husband and I have four bikes. (Well, I have three and he has one. lol) Anyway, we have two of this model and connect two bikes to each one. They are pretty much plugged in any time we're not riding. I've heard about letting the battery run down and not plugging them in all the time but our method seems to work well for us. We get long life out of our batteries and the bikes fire right up first time every time.

I use an optimale 3, connected during low season continuously, BUT power it through a time clock. Every 12 hours, 2 hour charge. Works like a charm!

Thanks. That’s the one I ordered for my ATVs and then I ordered a smaller for the Speed.
