Hey all, happy to be on the forum. I'm currently riding a 2017 MT-09 and looking for something that would be more of an "around town" bike but can also take on the occasional multi-day tour, which can include some off pavement riding, e.g. fire roads. I'm curious about the new Scrambler 1200 and wondering if anyone has thrown a leg over one yet? One potential concern I have is the maneuverability of that 21 inch wheel on pavement. All thoughts most welcome.
Welcome aboard Schack, sorry, can't help you with the Scrambler question but I'm sure some of the members may suggest the Tiger range for the kind of riding you're hoping to do, anyways, have fun finding the bike that fits.
Schack943 Welcome to the Family. Again I would suggest the tiger. But find one and rip it see what you think. Great peeps and great forum here. The inmates will be waiting for a picture of the present steed. Keeps them quite while nursey medicates them Ride Safe Joe.
Welcome to the Asylum you should fit right in. To keep the inmates happy we will need photos. please don't ride on the pavement as you might hit a pedestrian use the road. Tucker
Thanks again for the warm welcome! Here is the current stable: - GSX-R600 (currently wrecked from my last race) - Yamaha FJ-09 (MT-09 in Europe) - Honda Grom - Build in progress, based on Suzuki Savage 650
Welcome from San Rafael (across the small pond). I have a new 900 Street Twin and like it a lot. A similar 1200 (Speed Twin) is coming out for 2019.
No. It Is not a quick off - quick on screen. But I like the protection it offers. Around town or at freeway speeds no wind pressure. Makes the ride effortless.
Welcome aboard buddy. I've only sat on the new 1200 Scrambler at the NEC bike show. I do know that the folks at Triumph reckon it's a true off-road bike. But if you're mainly riding on tarmac I'd suggest you also test ride other bikes in the range.
