Rebuilding a 1976 T 140V. First 2 weeks spent cleaning nuts, bolts and washers. Went through 5 gallons of apple cider vinegar attacking rust. Jugs out for .20 rebore. First time doing this. Bought bike for 400.00 as a winter project.

It's been a lot of fun, I'm retired so I have the time. Winter time here so between this and raquetball I stay buisy.
Hey Curly, a little overwhelming initially but one step at a time, moving forward. Cleaned the sludge trap, buttoned up the crankshaft housing, new bearings, and got timing gears aligned today. An hour of research for 10 minutes of work.

Dennis. The Boys and Girls on here virtually talked me through my Silver Jubilee when I was redoing the valve timing. I had the cam gear way out. Yes it is rewarding as well to think you have rebuilt a machine that would otherwise ended up in a crusher somewhere. Good luck with the rebuild. Regards Joe.
Looks like a great project, please keep the photos coming, you've got a fair bit of work to do there but it will be worth it.
Hi Dennis welcome I did a 1971 T120 last winter that was a basket case brought over from America, Cost me £3,000 over here that was the going price. Had loads of fun and head scratching and when I finished it I was so pleased, can’t bring myself to sell her. Enjoy your retirement Danny
That looks great Daniel, but I’m curious why there’s such a big gap between the front wheel and mudguard?
Hi Yorkshireman yes I know that was the standard American mudguard this was the first of the oil in frame model a T120RV I’m told they only made about 200 so they could enter another race catagory ? everything about it was cheap, I had intended to change it but had spent enough at the time. When I get back from a long trip down under I might change my mind. Regards Danny
Daniel That surely was the 71 BSA mudguard. Never seen it fitted to a Triumph. But who am I to question it authenticity. Nice Machine though. Just hope I can do as well with my TSX. Regards Joe.
