Just a bit of fun over the holiday period. What in your opinion is the greatest movie featuring motorcycles? First for me would be The Great Escape. Second, Electra Glide in Blue. Third, Girl on a Motorcycle. What do you think folks?
TT 3D Closer to the Edge: without doubt the best motorcycle movie ever. Mondo Sahara, if you've not seen it, its great and shows how to have a true motorcycle adventure on a budget. Stars Austin Vince a proper English eccentric. Terminator 2; I know its a Harley
Not really a film buff but heres my 3 .... TT3D - Closer to the edge Wild Hogs Quadrophenia [h=3][/h]
Not a film fan either, but i agree with Richard H, closer to the edge is just bloody brilliant, but i'm a massive Guy Martin fan, so a bit biased.. I remember a film from when i was a motorbike mad kid, called Little false and big Halsy (i think) which has stuck with me all my life, but i've never seen it again since, but i always remember being blown away by the bike stunts in that film. Dunno what my number 3 would be, probably on any sunday :upyeah:
Actually almost every James Bond film has a good selection of bike stunts. Anybody remember the BMW cruiser jumping roofs in Tomorrow Never Dies or the bike chase across roofs in Skyfall?
Hi Billyandmollysdad, the film you remember is Little Fauss and Big Halsy starring Robert Redford and from 1970. How about Physcomania? Cult British horror film from 1971 - completely bonkers but features lots of Triumphs.
Another really good one i remember, was called 'Live like a cop, die like a man' Lots of oldskool Z9's as i remember..
Easy Rider would be in my top ten. I was very impressed with it first time around. I got it on DVD years later and the film lost its impact on the small screen. On Any Sunday is my first choice as a documentary. I haven't seen the Worlds Fastest Indian.
You must. It is based on the true story of New Zealander Burt Monroe attempting to set the world land speed record in the 60s at Bonneville. Anthony Hopkins is brilliant as usual and the film is is a real statement of courage and determination. You will love it.
