What many people seem to conveniently forget, is that with 'rights' come this little thing called 'responsibilities'. The two go hand in hand.
As a responsible gun owner I would like to add a comment or two. 1. I have at least 4 2. Possessions are stuff, which though inconvenient are replaceable (unlike my family) 3. The gun cabinet part is well thought out. Any burglar in my house is far more likely to hurt themselves tripping over onto something long and pointy than get shot! 4. Most of my firearms are kept in an armoury at the range where I use them, so I don't need to carry them around or have them at home. 5. Effective gun control means using both hands. 6. Did I mention I have at least 4?
I might be able to live with that without getting overly upset. If I felt that giving up my hobby of shooting would save a single human life, I would do it today. Getting into a pissing contest on a internet forum about it doesn't float my boat, so I guess Sprinter and I would just have to agree to disagree, and talk about bikes instead
Bait bikes is the way to go and do it in a Candid Camera/Trigger Happy tv type so we can all enjoy it....
Well,well...I think..it’s about time...given I have recently had a police friend say “if you need help..call a pizza, they’ll get there quicker”and..add to that the fact the police got around this week to saying it is a good thing to help them instead of sat there doing videos to post...I suggest once they knock them off (surely we can as well) ..but if nearby we can maybe wade in with the odd spanner or nearby object suitable for using ‘reasonable’ force... I agree there are sadly casualties..but it is a war out there for these unarmed men and women..taking on knives,chemical spray,guns and total scum...to be fair,there would be more of them if there were not to many in vans aiming lasers at my bike!!!
Why should we treat any thieving scum with any compassion or respect...do they give a fook about their victims...long past time when we should be be considering more effective means of deterrent......loosing some fingers or a hand ...oh wait then the said scum could qualify for a disability as well as their benefit...maybe work camps where they could actually do something useful in their lives!
The text below was lifted (and edited slightly) from a post I made on the same topic on another (model specific) forum. There may be references in this text to comments made by the post to which I was responding. There are, in my humble opinion, a few things to consider about this whole issue :- First - this tactic will not have been adopted without a LOT of forethought and planning. There will have been official representation from the Police and the Police Authorities to the Home Office for (at least 'tacit') approval of the adoption of this operational tactic. There WILL be guidelines, there will probably even be a need for senior officer approval before it's sanctioned at the time and in the field, and there WILL be reviews and reports when the tactic has been used - especially if the little darlings hurt their poor little hands on that nasty rough tarmac they've just kissed! Second - the tactic will almost certainly have constraints - use in extremis; speed limitations; location limitations and who knows what else? It almost certainly will NOT be used as a standard procedure and it's approaching laughable that they would use it to knock riders off for minor - or even major - traffic infringements. The sight of these scooter gangs stealing motorcycles and riding along city streets, usually ignoring all the fundamental rules of the road, and pushing the rear footpeg of the stolen bike for propulsion has become so common that I think it's the general public that has become desensitised to the activity. Third - these "people" - I denigrate the word by association with the majority of this worthless pondlife - do not give a good God-damn about the welfare or wellbeing of either the people from whom they steal and rob, or the people whose lives they willingly endanger by riding over pavements, ripping phones from their hands or, in some cases, threatening them with machetes! I REALLY don't think we should worry too much about turning the table of risk back onto them and letting them know, in the most practical way possible, that all actions have consequences - some good, some not so good. The best learned lesson is a salutary one. As for the taxpayer stumping up for moped riders with crushed legs, I sincerely hope not. I think the courts dealing with this sort of case are, these days, a lot more sensible about the circumstances surrounding an incident such as this. The poor 'victim' would have to prove that the police did not follow the correct procedures or acted in an unnecessarily dangerous way. Dashcam footage will be standard so there will be very few, if any, cases where that is liklely to be provable. And, finally, I think we need to bear in mind that the Police - particularly the Met. - have been roundly and loudly criticised (not least by motorcycle 'groups'), perhaps with some justification, for following procedures that have inevitably lead to this near-epidemic by, till now, declining to give chase under most circumstances because of the 'threat to life'. We can't have it both ways. The Police and authorities appear to have taken this on board and are already claiming reductions of more than 30% in the incidence of motorcycle theft since introducing this new regime. HOO 'KIN RAH!! It sounds a bit harsh, but I just hope it coincides with a similar rate of increase in the death rate of these thieving scumbags. Karma's a bitch. Apologies if this sounds like a mindless rant - my urine temperature rises to about 100 deg. C when I think about getting "touchy-feely" sympathetic with the human detritus that infects our society. It is a tactic used by many police departments worldwide but it is not used until the thief refuses to stop when an attempt is made to pull the scooter or motorcycle over.
Does that mean the ones in the vans marked “police” are impersonating police officers thus making your speeding ticket void? I wish!!
I see your point I think when these to$$ers attack you with a knife or a hammer they don't give a sh!t so why should we feel sorry for them. I had my bike stolen and I wished they got knocked off it . We know its rife in London and does require drastic measures
Moped drivers or Police hit someone? Best news I have heard for years, thank goodness someone has the balls to sanction this. The crime figures speak for themselves.

The Police are able to deploy a 'stinger' without impacting on other vehicles, only the target vehicle is damaged with those in pursuit able to continue after the 'stinger' is rapidly withdrawn. I was wondering if the same could be done with cheese wire at neck height? That's sort the little scrotes out once and for all.
It would avoid repeat offenders.... and you could bury them in (or cremate them using) the paperwork generated from each deployment!
