It's all done but now not charging, so waiting for a new stator to arrive, then it's engine out again! Here's one on my ride! Me - no thermals so bloody cold by the end of it!
The Barnstaple DGR was a distinctly low key but very friendly affair with probably no more than 18 or 20 bikes - of which 4 were Triumphs. The ride went from Barnstaple out to Bude via Frithelstock Stone and Holsworthy. Would have been a nice, scenic ride, were it not for the cold, the wind and the rain. Parked up at the Lock Gates Cafe and it looked like that was the venue for another DGR as there were more than a few other riders suited and booted. Brave souls, some of them with no proper riding or waterproof gear! I asked the Triumph riders on our outing to pose for the attached picture - the second image is one I've tried to crop just for clarity. So, Help Me Obi Wan, I hope you can read the sign I carried - you were there in spirit and you were definitely in my thoughts. Regards, Adie
It was fun (and of course for a good cause) but the din of those feckin' hardly ablesons was just deafening! I thought my TORS were loud - ehm, child's play in comparison. I couldn't actually hear my own bike in among with that lot!
Had to shoot past a group of four of them in the end - feckin racket! (Followed by about five other bikes who were obviously of the same opinion!)
I saw you all go past as I was walking the dog on Instow Beach, well I heard you 1st!!. I'd forgotten all about it, otherwise I'd have signed up. Too much going on at the moment so haven't been taking much notice of the world outside of my own little bit of it - but that's another story. The fella 2nd from the back in the waistcoat and white shirt must have been a bit chilly!! Well done to all those participants, where ever in the world you may have been.
Thank you all for your good wishes and I hope you enjoyed the ride. Now to serious stuff. I have decided to stop chemo and live with the consequences. You don't know how it kills you off, the good and the bad. You wouldn't wish this on anyone and the associated trauma that not only affects you but friends as well. I could never imagine what you have been through and still are going through but I applaud your strength in making this monumental decision. I wish you well and will keep you in my thoughts. Love and strength from us you will always have.
I’m at work mate and I’ve just had to go outside for a bit of a cry I really feel for you mate as I have a brother in law going through the same thing and it’s absolutely heartbreaking to watch Will be thinking of you mate

Warning. Do not mix Morphine and alcohol, that was one of the weirdest trips I have been on in a long while and I didn't even have to leave home. An individual doesn't get cancer, the whole family does. Well I don't have "family" anymore, just good friends. Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light. etc.etc .
