Welcome to the Family Andy. Your bike and what ever you do will look good. I feel you are a person who does his homework first so I don't think you will get caught out. Like said here when I had my 1200 I had to do the shocks straight away as the bike didn't feel right. I have the 900 now and really can't fault it atall even the shocks are very acceptable.

And therein lies the problem with biking - it soon becomes apparent that you need at least three bikes!

Agree. I have a 900 (Street Twin) and the 900 has plenty of power. And I ride 2 up with no problem.

Had the new T120 for just over 2 years now and use it for trips away 2 up occasionally. After owning a Tiger 800 then an Explorer, I can confirm the T120 does it for us.
Only thing is, check the bike out before riding first. My bike had a chain which had very little adjustment available from new. It now needs a new chain after just over 8000 miles and no guarantee to replace which has caused some bad com's betwee T and me!
Front brake squeal can also happen on the older 2016 bikes, but believe this has been sorted.
Vance and H are good, but best to remove the Cat and fit an X pipe with up swept pipes.
All that said the T120 is the best bike I've ever owned.
    Good luck.

Hi Andy, we have an'18 t120, cranberry/white set up for the long distances (have an '18 MG V7III Carbon Shine for short & wknd rides) out west here in western NV & absolutely love it. I'm 68 and don't ride as aggressively as as I used to but still enjoy a brisk pace. The much maligned stock suspension replacement is on the back burner because despit the hype, works fine for seasoned responsible riding but will be replaced in the future as it wears & that will improve the stock system as it would on almost any bikes stock system. Push the bike hard & it could use a non OEM system.
I/we have no complaints with the Triumph comfort seat & feel it's worth it's price. I wanted to keep the traditional look.
The cruise control is handy but like any cruise system I don't use it extensively. We have looooooong stretches out west here. The bags we have are out of production but after many years of touring I would never use soft panniers.
We have a small trunk that holds 1 full face helmet & mid-size detachable windshield for when I like it off as I like a clear view ahead when riding
If you or anyone would like to PM me with an email I'd be happy to send pics that include other additions. I don't know how here.
After many yrs & bikes we thoroughly enjoy the T120.
Best of luck with your decision.

Thanks Dale, very helpful post. Are you also running the stock pipes?

Thanks, very helpful. A friend in the same street has just sold his T120 and had the drcat pipe fitted. He also recommended the black version due to problems with the finish on the chrome / brushed engine covers
