I will be organizing another Scottish road trip this year, the dates will be Sunday the 26th of May (meeting up at Tyndrum) and leaving for home on the Sunday the 2nd June, it is one day more than last year as I’m intending to spend 2 nights in Ullapool so folk can either do the Lochinver Loop or explore further north.The route will be similar to last years but with a few changes.
Accommodation will be mostly Hostels/Bunkhouses but I’m hoping to include a couple of hotels, detailed daily route cards will be provided again and I will email them several weeks before so you can study them and if required you can copy them out again in a way that suits you.
Once I have definite numbers then I can go about checking out accommodation and I will post up the daily route maps (detailed daily info on the route will be sent to you separately) Please copy and paste your name below if you would like to spend a week riding some fantastic roads!!

I would love to but will have to wait and see what my w*rk load is for next year

 

It would be great if you could manage Steve,i'm hoping to have all the accomodation booked before the end of the year but if you are not able to commit until a few weeks before we go, i will try my best and find accomodation near us if places are fully booked

 

What an absolute pisser. I've booked to go to Munich on the 17th May to celebrate my birthday and watch Bayern Munich's last game of the season.
I suppose I could do the first few days and come home early. Bah !

 

If it's ok with @andyc1 i could make it the 26th May to the 2nd June?..that should still be before the rainy season!

it's no problem for me Andy, and i've just heard from @andyc1 and hes ok with either of the dates it might have been differant if more folk had signed up for it but it's early days yet

This would be the route, point 1 is Tyndrum where we would stay on the Sunday night.(26th May)
Point 5 is the Corran Bunkhouse where we would stay on Monday night. (27th May)
Point 8 is Broadford where we would stay on the Tuesday night. (28th May)
Point 11 is Gairloch where we would stay Wednesday night. (29th May)
Point 12 is Ullapool where we would stay on Thursday night. (30th May)
Point 16 is Braemar where would stay on the friday night (31st may)
Point 20 is South Queensferry where we are staying on saturday night (1st June)
Leave for home on Sunday the 2nd June
Daily totals are all less than 200 miles which gives us plenty of time for stops

 

No I've changed the route a bit from last year, we won't be going on the Corran Ferry this year,point 5 is Fort William I'm hoping we will be staying around about there on the Monday night

So the chances are you will get wet, although last year we didn't. I was a Triumph Forum trip virgin & im coming back for more! Yikes Commit. You won't regret it. It's a blast.

 

If you wanted to book hotels for yourself thats not a problem,i understand everyone is not keen on Hostels..i can give you the exact locations we will be staying at a later date so you would hopefully be able to get a hotel nearby, I hate rain also, so i'm hoping there will be none..infact i'm pretty sure it's going to be Sunny!! ..The daily mileages are all less than 200...so you will only be spending max 4.5hrs actual riding every day and we will be stopping off for plenty of coffee/photo/snack breaks

 

The trick is to cut out some of the route like I did last May. Just re-join further on. The standard of bunkhouses was very good so you don't need to worry about that. Like they say, it's best to regret things you have done rather than things you haven't done.

 

A virgin?

 

Too be fair Ken, the only real rain was the last hour through Yorkshire to Carlisle. If you recollect, we were kicking ourselves for not packing enough sun screen for the Scotland leg.
