Treated the old girl to a bit of bling. I left me blinker on the other day in bright sunlight & thought it's worth a few quid for brighter bulbs. Don't need to encourage people to pull out on me. Thought I'd do the blue speedo backlight while I was at it. For anyone who doesn't know, the main beam bulb isn't included in the set because you wouldn't want that blaring at you on a dark night.... but it shows the difference.

Please please please make sure you set your lights up so as not to dazzle cars, van truck drivers, I’ve ridden on the road since the age of sixteen and I’m now fifty one.
I drive a pick up truck to work and I’m increasing getting incensed by idiots who think riding a bike with a collapsed star on the front is good
I always end up turning my mirrors so I can’t see it which means I can’t see you it’s not always brightest is best.
    Be safe mate not blinding!!!!

My lights are perfectly set up thank you & I never blind anyone. I also consider myself safe. Like you I am also incensed by idiots blinding me with their bright headlights - but in my case it's cars & pick-ups (never trucks or motorcycles). Regarding my lights, it's the instrument lights I've upgraded which affect nobody but myself. The headlight bulb on my Scrambler is the original.

I only upgraded the idiot lights + speedo backlight with LED's from Squaredeals. I also want a brighter headlight bulb if anyone can recommend one that is a straight swap without any other mods?

I have a 2010 Scrambler and want to change the dash bulbs as they are dim as hell. Do you just slide a screwdriver under the chrome ring in the dash to pop off the cover and access the bulb?

No mate you have to remove the 4 bolts that hold the speedo panel to the handlebars, the trip meter knob, the speedo cable, then the 2 chrome nuts that hold the plastic cover underneath. Then pull the bulb holders out. I had to (gently) use needle-nose pliers to remove the bulbs & fit the led's. If I were you mate I'd get a Haynes manual - step by step instructions are there. While I was at it I put blue led bulbs in that back-light the speedo. They do them in red too. I'm not the best at pulling stuff apart but I managed that. Watch out for the 2 washers under the chrome nuts - then another 2 when you slide the plastic cover off.

Awesome. Thanks for the tips and yes, I best get a manual. I've only just got the bike and one quick ride before winter was all I had. First thing I noticed was how dim those bulbs were.

There's an interesting article in the Jan 19 edition of Ride which is out now. They tested 21 bulbs, one of which is an LED option which interestingly is very poor on dipped and main beam. They say that reflectors are not optimized for LED bulbs...
