Well its about helmets and Boris Johnson comments. I really don't think he was offending anyone. Also about a year i pulled into a services i think on the M6. Beside me was three ladies all burka'd up or as Boris would say dressed as letterboxes. I stood there sometime and kept looking in the shop window and jesturing. Atanoy came over loud and clear Please remove your helmet. I was mistified and approached one of the tellers and said are you discrimiating against me. No sir was the reply it the rules. I said what about the Laies no sir we are not allowed to say anything. Now i don't care what people wear and didn't really care then i just limpted to the next filling services. But shouln'd someone make it clear what it is to discriminate against bikers and others. Ride Free Joe
Synthetic outrage and mostly vicarious (being outraged on behalf of other people)....... Still it is as much to do with internal party politics and jockeying for position as going to a fancy dress party dressed as a Guinness bottle......
So I am not on my own. I can't remember the garage but it did upset me. I am not racist in any way but like to be treated equally. I to had a flip front helmet in the open position. Maybe we are second class after all even if we have a ten grand motorcycle sitting there on a centre stand with the keys in the petrol cap. Only other time I had the same request was at a garage on the Maidenhead Bridge again a small store which I had used many times and I have not used it again. Ride Free Joe.
A year ago, this would have been ignored by the BBC and passed off as "just Boris'. Now no longer a chosen favourite of the toryies, the full wrath of disgust and indignation is poured onto him by the tory propaganda machine (BBC and printed press) Boris is an eejit, no news there. But let's destroy him now he's out of favour. Started with Neil Kinnock, then every Labour leader since, make them a joke and they'll never challenge tory rule again. Now Corbyn is an anti seminite, all because he objects to the Israeli's killing Arabs !!! That not against Jews, that's just not liking an army with weapons shooting kids chucking stones. Be careful what you believe and swear allegiance to! Before you make up your mind, go and learn all the facts, not what the mainstream media feed you.
Yes. Exactly we are now put in a position by the press where you can't have ANY opinion on anything, cos in 20 years time, they will dig it up and bury you with it. How can a leader learn if they can look at the facts then must do nothing . How does that leave society with a wise older generation?
First of all I dislike religion at the best of time, and have a particular dislike of religions where men decide God doesn't like women to show their faces or legs in public. I'm also with the French, Danes and other governments where there are limitations put on where you can and cannot hide your face, whether it's with a balaclava or a burka. But Johnson is a cretinous cnut who was offensive and typically so of many Eton-educated types.. I often interact at our local Tesco with a couple of ladies who where Burkas. We exchange pleasantries, talk about the special offers and stuff. I can see their smiling eyes. I think it's fecking stupid religious edicts they follow, but I see no need to be openly offensive to them. Nor should a politician, let alone one who at the highest level represented the interests of our country around the world.
If you remove your helmet as requested and you're wearing a balaclava (or even a Burka) under it what happens then?
Yes he should have more sense as a representative of this country ( past) what does that say about the wtats that gave him the job.
I had the same thing with Tesco about 8 years ago haven't used them for anything since hope they go bust
