This is a huge subject to cover, so many variables. Every helmet I've ever bought has revealed flaws only becoming recognised after regular use and not when tried for size etc, in the dealers. One of these days I'll get it just right though, won't I?
When I was looking for my last helmet I had set my sights on a Arai, only to find that the helmets didn't fit the shape of my head no matter which model I tried. I now have a Shoei which fits me perfectly. Helmet has to be the one that fits, not always the one you want unfortunately
Well after trying many brands over the years I found out about 15 years ago that I seem to have the perfect head for Shoei helmets, ever since I don't piss about trying other makes I just wait for a Shoei I like to go on sale!
Well everyone has a doppelganger (obviously yours is Julian Clary!), didn't think there could be another as handsome as me though, I could be the pin up for Shoei helmets (as long as I keep the dark visor down obviously).
If I get your drift and its what it seems to be, then my advice would be the same as a wise man once said - Be like smoke from a fire and - Rise above it !!!!
