Hello & welcome. I nearly bought a 2004 Speedmaster rather than my Black Bonnie, but the Speedmaster was advertised so poorly . . . the seller claimed it had < 3,000 miles, but also claimed the speedo & odo weren't working. Called it a "Speedster", not "Speedmaster." Also said it was a 2004 with 865CC engine, and I believe that those weren't introduced until 2005. The picture of the Speedster was taken on a gravel road, in the rain, A wet, dirty bike surrounded by construction debris.

In Gene wolfe's sci-fi trilogy "The Urth of the New Sun," the hero, an executioner, wears fuligin robes. Fuligin is described as "the color that is darker than black." I want a fuligin Bonneville. The chrome bits here & there provide a contrast with the black, so the brighter the sunlight, the darker the black.

New Speedmaster owner here. Bought mine in October. VERY happy with her. White and black tank, brown leather seat conversion. Still waiting on my dealer to supply rail replacements in black. Absolutely love the ride. I have a older Adventurer and a new Ducati. But my speedmaster is the absolute greatest for long rides.
Have to agree with you on the speedmaster, great bike, great ride. I also went for the brown saddles, IMHO make the look on the bike just a bit special and different..... Wessa
