Just had a call from the dealer. Whilst replacing my discs they've noticed a flaw in the paint on the tank. This is tank number 2 replaced under warranty for paint issues.
Nice to see your dealer is being proactive!..........(or did the tech drop his spanner on the tank? )
Youles Blackburn. Had nothing but positive service from them. Said they will show me the tank when i pick up the bike.
2016 R Claiming for front brake switch under warranty Sticky and continues to do so each morning unless detached, cleaned and replaced
Looking on Worldoftriumph website and they don't have any front brake switches in stock...I wonder if it is a widespread thing I noticed the rear brake switch on the 2018 model is completely different
I also have paint flaking off a rear indicator, wonder if that should be claimed for....it also happened on my older Speed Triple 2010 with the same led indicators
Absolutely, claim for everything whilst under warranty! Sounds like a faulty batch of switches, all bike manufacturers sub out electricals. Had a 2012 Multistrada - sticky start switch and about 3 fuel gauge sender units (among other things!) both common faults. Hopefully Triumph will give the supplier an ass kicking and get reliable replacements (Ducati never managed that while I had the Multi )
I use the Triumph tail pack on my Speed Triple, the first lasted about 8 months before the zip failed and was replaced FoC by World of Triumph. This morning the replacement has failed, again the zip has given up the ghost and I am using an old Oxford tank bag with a zip that still works five years later. I will contact them again for a refund/replacement My words are, avoid the Triumph tail pack, the zip is a weak point. To be honest, the zips seem to be a weak point on all Triumph products, they have broken on my leather jacket and the explorer jacket, I had to use zip extender things off Amazon so I would use them Plus the velcro on the Triumph turns to fluff quite quickly...
Just had the LED tail light replaced on my 2016R at 6500 miles, only half of it was working Luckily Jack Lilley Romford sorted it for me under warranty
Had my rear brake light switch replaced yesterday on my 1200 mile RS. The brake light was stuck on and the Cruise control and mode change while on the move wouldn't function. Switch replaced, now all ok. The switch is the large one above the front of the swingarm.
The 'ratio adjuster' on my 2018 RS brake lever wouldn't click round - it was stuck between 19 and 21 and the lever felt really solid. Surprisingly, the replacement part came as a complete assembly - lever, master cylinder and even the braided brake line...all done with no fuss at the first service, by Jack Lilley in Romford. The brake feel is much improved, so perhaps there was more wrong than I'd figured.
New switch now gone the same way, no idea why. Dealer is contacting Triumph to see if they have any ideas......
Not yet, waiting for Triumph to send another one. They, apparently, haven't come across the problem before.
Warranty claim or not ? new Speed Triple RS defect in tank paint. Dealer says “its part of welding process & happens. Its in the tank, not the paint so nothing to worry about, will look at 500 mile service” ??
I'd be pushing for a new tank. It's going to draw your eye to it constantly. I've had 2 tanks replaced for far less visible faults. Both brought to my attention by the dealer.
I am inclined to agree. Its actually under the plastic cover on the front of the tank so day to day wont see it but I know what you mean
