If you use the skip function on garmin, if you miss a way point, once back on the rest of the route, it forgets you've missed it, and carries on regardless.
When you transfer a MyRoute-App direct to your TomTom MyDrive account and therefore your wireless TomTom500/550 you are creating a "Track" rather than a route with waypoints. The Sat Nav doesn't get upset about missing anything then.
Seeing as I have just got a sat nav I have posted a joining request on myrouteapp. Just got to work out how I put them on the Garmin!
Does anyone know where you can get replacement keys for Garmin mounts? I have one for the Ram Mount extension but no key. The lock cylinder has the key number but I can't seem to find anywhere that supplies keys to the lock code.
Just a little tip for Garmin users. It seems that the new Garmins will not be recognised in the Tyre route app or the myrouteapp - I found that out after spending some time tonight trying to send a route to my new Garmin Zumo 346. However after a bit of online research I found that you can do it but via Basecamp with a couple of extra steps. This is the helpful guide I found ;- https://www.meetup.com/MCForum/messages/boards/thread/49775179 . If you follow it the route appears on your sat nav!
Just plugged my Tom Tom V5 in to my sons laptop so he can update the map. which I do every 3-4 months. and it can't be done as the European map is too big now for the memory. they have separated it into 4 sections north, south, east, west Europe. so I didn't bother. just leave it as it is covering all of Europe.
No experience of TomTom's, with Garmin you can install on memory card rather than default internal memory. Also may need to clear old map files to make room?
my old tom tom rider 2 had a memory card, so it was possible to fit a bigger one or carry a couple with you with other European maps on, but the TT V5 has a hard drive and no provision for a card, I think the best thing is to not try to update the mapping as I have all of Europe on it, I'm reluctant to purchase a new one as they have got very expensive because they do many things that I do not need. I don't use a phone, or music, I just put my destination in each day, and listen to spoken directions on my sena smh5 intercom. I wish they would make a cheaper simple to use basic GPS, for old f****rs like me.
Hi all, as I introduced myself, I’m a newbie here. I’ll get my first-ever Bonnie in March 19, which will allow my good old ’96 Intruder to rest a bit. Being already a bit expectant and looking outside to rain here in north of Bavaria, I’m preparing myself a bit with open topics for 2019 season. One of these is how to fix my navigation (Tomtom Rider4) to the Bonnie, preferably not using the ugly fixtures from accessories shops… thinking on a fixation either in the middle of handlebars between the bolts? Or, on top of the instruments as I will also have a small windscreen? Am I in right thread? Please, let me have your comments – and a Merry Christmas, Thomas
What mount did you get with your tomtom? If you have these you could attach to the inside of the screen so the device sits just above or on the clocks
You can get a mount that replaces one of the handlebar clamp bolts with a longer bolt with a RAM ball mount on. I've got one, as you can use it on virtually any bike. Got mine here. http://www.telferizer.com/products/
Thanks, guess I will take this solution , even preferrably vs. fixation at screen (I have my own, non-proven doubts on vibrations).
