    Hi All,

Looking or some help and advice.

I purchased the above bike less than 3 months ago from a independent garage and I have been having the following issues with it.

    1. When changing gear or stopping at a junction etc, the revs drop and then the bike cuts out. All electrics still work but it takes me 4-5 goes to get it started.

The garage took the bike back and the first time they could find no issues, I then installed a helmet cam and got footage of the problem, garage collected the bike and told me after a few days that the problem was the TPS, apparently it was out of sync. The bike now revs at around 1200rpm at idle. It has not so far cut out on me while changing gears or stopping at a junction BUT it does cut out on me after I start the bike and ride it few a few miles, this does not happen everytime though. Again it takes a few goes for it start and stay idling as it should do.

    2. I barely get 120 Miles out of a full tank and that is riding like my grandmother. I keep it at 70mph, no acceleration, nothing. If I give it some beans, maybe once a ride short burst of speed etc, I get 100-110 Miles.

Any help or advice greatly appreciated as I am getting fed up.

    Thanks all.

120mpg is very good fuel economy, do you mean 120 miles from a tank?

Bike is again back at the garage and guess what, they cannot find a fault. Unfortunately helmet cam fell off but luckily I had it tethered but could not get video footage as was waiting for replacement VHB pads to rebond to helmet.

Since I did not have video footage the dealer is stating that they have ridden bike for over 100 miles and they cannot find a single fault (In fact, according to them it rides better than when they first had it :) ) They stated this previously until I proved it with a video and then all of a sudden there was a fault.

They are offering to send me video footage of the bike working if I want but they will have to get hold of a camera first and take bike out again (I would have thought they would have done this anyway), or they will buy bike back less approx.£400 due to 1K mileage I have done on it, or I can go the small claims route.

Any advice on my next step?

    Thanks

I'd be tempted to take the money and shop elsewhere

True but how can they justify dropping nearly £400 for doing 1k mileage. It seems excessive to me. Could live with a £150-£200 but not £400.

It might be a stupid question, but it is firing on all four cylinders isn't it?

The retailer takes it to a mechanic so I would assume that they have checked that. Plus, when it works it works fine, just starts dropping revs to the point that it stalls.

Am sorry but I do not know what the mechanic is doing or has done as it is still under warranty. Have only owned it for 9 weeks or so. Retailer has had it for nearly 5 of those weeks.
