Well just over a week ago got back from a ride around the Emerald Isle. Went with a mate on a baby monster. As a budget trip it was awesome.
We took the ferry from Pembroke to Rosslare and 8 days later took one back from Dublin to Holyhead. 1650 miles in total. It was just before the heatwave (well we caught three days of it). More or less around the coast, along the South and up the West, a little bit of the North then a blast from Belfast to Dublin. We didnt do Donegal or Antrim coasts as we had to get to Dublin, still, something to go back for and I definitely would.. When we left we had two nights accommodation booked in Dublin for the end and that was it.
We took a tent each and ended up wild camping 2 nights, a hostel one night (in Galway) and camping on sites the rest. We spent about an hour or two in total on the motorway the whole trip. We had to take a couple of major roads from time to time to get where we needed to on schedule.
The road users were pretty bike friendly pulling in on the main roads so it was easy to pass, the people were friendly. The roads were quieter than in England but not as quiet as the highlands and the standard of tarmac was okay but some of the very minor coastal roads were bumpy and uneven.
We did quite a lot of the tourist type destinations, Blarney castle, Jamesons distillery, Bushmills distillery, Valentia Island, Slieve League, Glencar waterfall, Giants Causeway, Dark Hedges. My friend planned the route and visits (his turn i did the trip to the highlands last year and Belgian Grand Prix the year before), I deliberately didn't have a sat nav on so it would be more fun.
As a trip it was a good one, if you have never been to Ireland definitely worth the effort.
Didnt take many photos, at least not ones worth sharing, first for DIlli

Looks like a decent trip guys. Love Ireland, strangely we did the Guinness tour in Dublin, I say strange because I'm teetotal :)
