the bike i got is a 1968 TR250W in restored condition,i have a couple of queries re this bike and any help would be appreciated,no1 was there ever a heatshield made for this as the right hand rear footpeg is mighty close to the high level exhaust or alternately is there an aftermarket system which will fit this model that will cure the problem,no2 did this model originally have a centre stand as there is not one now.
Welcome to the Asylum you should fit right in. To keep the inmates happy we will need photos. Hope it's black Tucker
Hi, Norris. Wasn't sure about your queeries so I tapped 'Triumph tr 250w' into that there google thingy and from what I could see there were heat shields available at one time - one metal plate type on the exhaust pipe above the crankcase and a sort of grid type version protecting the silencer from the passenger or vice versa. Bigger silencer than yours though on the pictures I've seen. They may even still be available! A centre stand was fitted to the more road orientated versions, so I would assume that if you can track one down then it will probably fit okay.
Hello Norris, if i can help in any way with sorting a heat shield for your bike let me know as i am in Bournemouth as well
thank you all for nice comments,it has been pointed out to me that i should change my name as i could easily be traceable,i am not sure how i can do this any help would be appreciated,by the way the bike came frome scotland and was couriered by shiply who i can recommend.
thank you for that, i am not sure yet whether one was ever made for this high level system i am still trying to find out.
No they never had one, there are other models that have one that you could fit that will help when you are at a standstill, The heat goes away when moving.
A local supplier to us does this that would help out. https://www.feked.com/universal-trials-exhaust-heat-shield-polished-aluminium-23cm.html
